Is the right one a duplicate of the factory one? |

Other than being thicker and billet, and correct me if I'm wrong, yeah, same same. The idea is that it matches the left plate. |

Hootowl is correct , the right plate is "basically" the same as stock with some small changes, it's thicker than the cast plate because it was easier to machine it that way. The cast plates are a little thicker at each of the mount points if you look at one from the back, the CNC plate is that thickness for the whole plate. The relief design in the front might be slightly different to accommodate a small change in the access hole in the front side for the isolator bolt. In a stock plate the front access hole is in the lower portion of the pocket the isolator sits in, in the CNC plates it's centered and has no effect on installation or bolt access. This was an element of the first version of these plates that I decided not to change while I brought this back into availability, I did however work with the design with the machinist on a few other aspects to try and resolve a few subtle issues and provide an improved version with lessons learned and input from owners of the original version. In short, the right plate is mostly the same as a stock plate, though comparing both side by side you would pick up on the differences. You don't need both plates to be able to utilize the left plate for the advantage of the kickstand design, a few folks only bought a left plate but I think that ultimately the matched set of CNC plates really sets off the bike. I've got my side stand now but I'm wondering if it is too short. It measures approx 13" from the centre of the pivot to the middle of the foot. Could someone check theirs as I'm concerned that I've bought a shorter stand from a M2 low. Would be good to be sure before getting it all painted. Thanks Simon |

that's the correct one, the M2 low is one inch shorter. its really amazing how much shorter the kickstand is than the stock S2 kickstand...when you compare the kickstands side by side you think.."how can this possibly work..?" I looked at an S2 the other day for someone and the stock kickstand scared me, LOL!! I didn't want to touch the bike! I do not have the same "fear" with this plate and the newer style kickstand...I think nothing at all of walking away with the bike idling to warm up. post a photo once you have it all together! |

Blks1l - did you decide if you wanted to order a set of plates or a left plate only? sorry I have been off line hit or miss while I recover from an eye surgery so I'm just checking in to see if I missed your request. |

No hurry! I will take a left only, is another run going to be done, or just one? |

I can have a single plate made, though I think JeffC is going to need a set so that's one full set and a left only. If you're ready I'll reach out to the machinist and see if he is ready to make them. Left plate only, polished or unpolished (raw machined finish good foe Powdercoating) or satin/brushed |

Let me see what the right side looks like and I will get back with you on the finish. I am ready though if he needs to start. (Message edited by Blks1l on July 09, 2014) |

I think you folks only buying left plates will be disappointed when you compare the new one to the stock one. You will wish you had ponied up the extra cash for a matched set. |

If you've got an S2T they look pretty much the same when painted/powder coated. |

I've checked with the machinist to see if he is at a point he can turn a plate for you. Still waiting on a response. Can't guarantee price since price of aluminum is fluctuating so much and this starts with a big piece! I leave Monday for a week long medical trip to San Antonio so this might slow things down just a bit as well, but I will do the best I can to stay on top of it. |

I'm going to have some more plates made for Blks1l and a set for someone leers that contacted me directly. As I get ready to turn this in and have the machinist set up, does any one else want a set? |
