Okay,
Need advice on where to go from here. South Side called today and said that the header (where it is dented) is up against the frame and that the header itself isn't fully seated to the muffler. So in order to fix this ( I have to call back though) it was going to be about $262.96 in parts and a grand total of $671.06 to fix because they have to rotate the motor down $671.06 out of the frame. So unless I can find a cheaper mechanic to fix while I am gone for the next 2 weeks, I may not have a choice but to have SSHD fix it. MY WIFE IS GOING TO KILL ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

David,

If you have a new header, drop your bike off at my house. I will be home next Monday. Luckily, Jimmy showed me how to drop the motor/change exhaust, so I can replace the header for you (assuming you have a replacement). Let me know. I'll give you directions and you can drop it off in my garage and I'll have it fixed by the time you get back. Should cost you no more than a case of beer. Plus, I'm sure one or two other folks would be more than willing to swing by and turn a wrench.

I'm good with that, but I thought his was cracked? If it's good, I'll take it. I guess I could use this money to get another Muffler so I don't sound so wimpy huh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am in Willow Grove, PA now, so I will get the bike to you between Friday and Sunday when I get back somehow (have to go to NC for some house stuff). Is there anything else I need for parts that I can have SSHD order for me. I am glad you can save me on this one, wish you could have stopped me from dropping it the first time, maybe I wouldn't be in this situation. LOL

Do you think SSHD will have an issue with me not being able to pick it up till Friday????? LOL

Well I made it. Got to copperhead, but everyone was gone. Went up to the dragon, rode it twice so I got two stickers! Yeah, the TN section is all that's advertised! It was sort of like a pilgrimage, one more item checked from my "Got to do list". But, there's a much better road that starts at Deals Gap that I took on a whim NC 28. Its quicker and the views are breath taking! Goes east through the Nantahala National Forest, highly recommended ride. I'll be honest, after 3 days of riding 400 + miles, I was tired of the saddle, might make me reconsider that cross country trip. But it's been worth every mile so far.

Hey david look up buell hawk performance exhaust and give him a call his name is Randy i am sending my exhaust to him to get mod he can show you dynos and everything he said it is louder than stock but not louder then d&d and drummer. the price is only 175 and it will only take a week for him to get it back to you.

Jimmy's right. You may want to order new muffler brackets/straps. I believe I have extra set, but just in case...

I will let my sister-in-law know that you're dropping it off...she'll be there watching the kids while the wife and I enjoy our Hawaiian vacation. I'm sure that if you dropped the bike off with one of the HRHs on the southside they'd drop it off at my casa for you if you don't have much time...

ok guys so Oceana Naval Air base is having a Motorcycle Rodeo May7th I think it starts at 9 if anybody wants to ride and check it out let me know we can do a ride after to where ever.

Do you know how it compares to the spec ops muffler mod????? I will give him a call once I get a better idea of when I can get the muffler off and sent to him.

either way, I wish I could send it off now. But at least I can have the bike ready for it when it does get back.

drummer and spec ops are gutted mufflers with packing on the inside he guts the stock can and replaces the baffles with his special designed baffling when you call him he will tell you everything you need to know and is more then happy to answer any question at anytime you call him. mine will be here by next week if you want to wait and meet up and hear mine.

I have an xb12 header you can use, I was going to get it coated but you can use it and then find me a used one to replace it. I would offer to change it this weekend (especially since I live 1/4 mile from SSHD) but we are closing on the house this weekend.
