I know that its been discussed before but, I just ordered a KN air filter for my 1125 when I get it will the ecm add enough fuel to compensate for the extra air or am I going to have to manually change the afv's

How do you manually change the AFV?

That's what the O2 sensors are for. The stock ECM has enough adjustability in it's mapping to compensate for that change.

Thank you that was exactly what I was looking for I know with out fuel modds its prob best not to do an exhaust and the filter but wasn't sure if there was enough range to do just the filter

Just a FYI, the AFV's look like they will range from 75 to 140 with a maximum of 25 for a spread before they report an error. An AFV of 125/100 will show a fault, or any combination thereof.

Is there any notisable advantages with just doing the filter fuel economy, power top or bottom end?

Not that I've experienced, but I've had it on since the 2nd week (1st service) and never really used the stock filter. Power, mine has a dip around 9k rpm that most bikes don't and I think the K&N might be the cause of it, but I haven't proven it yet.
Others have said there's as much as a 5 hp gain, but I don't think so personally. I've been known to be wrong before though.

you ought to search around... theres a few dyno sheets showing loss of power with a K&N...

I believe i read somewhere that race teams used a stock air filter....just something i have been seeing in my searches of this forum.

FYI there's a ton of info on here, just gotta sift through some stuff to find it.

Powerloss with a K&N

When this happens, then the bike is already running lean, adding the K&N will lean the bike out more en wil loose power then.

There is no other explaination for this.

I am not adding the K&N until I fit the EBR pump gas race ECM which I hope to do this weekend (and remove the baffle from my Remus can.)
I wont take the risk of the engine running lean and do not believe that the AFV has the scope to cope with both the K&N and a less restrictive exhaust than standard - but this is only my opinion and no doubt others will tell me I am wrong.
The EBR race exhaust has had to be put on hold for a while which is a shame but the recession forces this action

Sorry, that was meant to be "tongue-in-cheek" sarcasm.
