Water pump continued.

Contacted corportate... They were confused as the dealer told them the bike was complete.

Call dealer, says they are waiting on seals and the generator update parts.... I'm thinking this may be good news tho... Cause unless the service receptionist at the dealer was confused or misinterpreted their techs the R1022.1AM was received. I'm hoping this stuff should be received and installed in due time...

As far as the favor goes, anyone with HD-Net access see a status change on the R1022.1Am kit availability...
If not what do you think the possibility is that Corp somehow located one in the wild and got it shot over...

I'm confused...

Larry - still shows backordered.
Sometimes an odd one or two parts will show up during a backorder and they are doled out in a FIFO order.

Sounds like time to be happy if you got it.

Sans any contact from service I'll wait to look into till later next week. They said they got it, and I have no reason to believe otherwise, they also said the gaskets should be there within a week, so calling them back prior to that imo could be a little annoying.

Thanks for the info, keep'n my fingers crossed : )

I have to keep my dogs away from my bike now. I never know when it's going to pee enough coolant to kill them.

Thanks for bringing the coolant leak to light.

So is this an issue like the clutch weeping that will happen to most bikes?

From what I have been told by Buell service rep. This issue has been reported on small number, late 08's early 09's. My build date lists Aug 08.

I cannot vouch for the accuracy of this information but the rep was on the phone with an engineer @ corporate, so it seems credible, wouldn't bet the farm on it though... (would bet a round of beers tho...)

Well from what i've read about the clutch weeping, once it starts it doesn't stop and can only get worse. So far my water pump weep has stopped, but I only rode it once since finding the trail of coolant.

At an rate, I wouldn't keep your bike near any pets.

Seemed to be kinda on again off again. Seems to happen most when I have taken a ride greater than 30 minutes or so. (I live close to work, so commute is short. Occasionally leaked, longer rides, puppy leaked every time)

You know this would explain the half qt that my bike and so many others were down after the 600 or so miles at the first service

My build date is March 09. My coolant was low and I've added coolant a few times since the first check. I knew it was leaking somewhere, just couldn't find it.

...Crossed fingers seemed to do the trick... R1022.!Am confirmed, installed, stator/generator update confirmed recieved installed. OMG I think I get my bike back tomorrow.
Just in time for biblical rain. LOL.
Cannot wait, my friends and I will be staging a little mock DSB race @ Sears Point... 600cc UJM's vs. the CR (i know an R would be more appropriate...)
They'll still prolly smoke me, seeing how they have statures more akin to Pedrosa, where I on the other hand am 6'6" and run three tires on the track... (one on the front, one on the back, and the one that dunlop'd over my belt ; )
