Aside from looks what seems to be the luggage/bags of choice for an X? Things I want: 1. lots of space 2. tough 3. non-leak is a must 4. ease of removal and install 5. Must allow for as must space as passenger as Buell bags. Thanks |

The Outdoorsman bags are the best looking bags for the Uly. Others are using the Pelican bags or the Zega cases. I worked up a bid for our 09 with Outdoorsman bags installed (discount). When I get your PM, I can do the same for you if you'd like. |

well, I really like the looking of the V35 (I'm considering to have the silver detail painted in the Buell frame color) and will check if I can get a rack adjusted to the Uly. |

Those look nice, but functionality is more important to me. I've see some aluminum ones the seem like what I may be looking for. |

Pelican 1430's. You can do the same with the 1440's which are about twice as big and half the cost of aluminum. The handle and wheels are removable. http://www.boss-safety.com/shop/pelican-1440nf-loa der-protector-case-foam-p-1610.html http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb108/itileman/ Ulypelicans5.jpg |

I have Givi E41 keyless cases on mine. I like them because the sides open just like "normal" cases, but they have a smaller door on the top that has a combination lock. It's nice for getting little stuff in and out, like a pair of shoes or a bottle of water. They work well for me. |

The Carabous are proving to be a good buy. Waterproof and they support the bike when I fall over. And they easily carry to 30 packs of beer! |

Touratech Zega cases. Some don't like the looks, but I think they scream adventure louder than any other case. They meet all of your criteria and they have the added bonus of being repairable. break a plastic case and you'll be carrying your stuff in your lap. The Zegas can be pounded back in shape after a get-off. You can strap stuff to them, use them for a table, and the lids for a convenient tray while cooking or repairing your bike. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/489451.html?1251692877 |

How big is the top box on the outdoorsman boxes? IS it big enough to fit 2 full face helmets in? |

Like others have posted before. The great thing about the Journey cases is the're HUGE. The bad thing about the Journey cases is the're HUGE. |

The great thing about the Journey cases is the're HUGE. The bad thing about the Journey cases is the're HUGE. that is an accurate statement Mnrider! as much as I like the looks of the Outdoorsman, I couldn't go back to using those now because of all the stuff I carry in my Journey bags. While I've heard others that have had problems with their Journey bags, I haven't had any yet! Waterproof and solid as a rock! |

the best things about the caribous is that they will support the weight of the bike when you drop, and if you ride that thing off road, you gonna drop. DAMHIK |

I have the 40L Juniors, the same as the Outdoorsman and almost as big as the Journey. So far - a couple months - no leakage in the rain. Fortunately I have yet to test how they hold up under impact. No plans to conduct that test any time soon. You'll have to perform that one yourself. |

Those Gobi's are good looking bags. How big are they? |

Those Gobi's are good looking bags. How big are they? The Gobi bags are nice, however there are a few things to keep in mind. 1) They look big, but in reality they aren't as big as you would think. In fact, they are smaller than the stock HB/Buell bags on the XT. part of the reason is that they have a double wall. There is space between these walls, enough for 3.5 litres of water. You can buy a spigot for each bag and fill each with water, so you always have water, but that also cuts down the available space. 2) With the stock Uly luggage rack mounted, the Gobi's mount without any modifications. However, they are a tad bit longer in width and so the pillion pegs do not fold up and have to be left down all the time unless you install aftermarket lower kits. I bought the black gobi's and they really look great on the Uly. I swapped out the standard topcase for the outdoorsman topcase, so despite having less room with the Gobi bags, I have more capacity in the topcase. I kept my Buell bags and swap them out as needed.
