On the road now Most information in this thread is inaccurate. Buell Customer Service has NOTHING to do with and no information tegarding dealer pricing. For ACCURATE information call Liberty HD/Buell. You can do no better. |

Dealer pricing is not what's in question. Who picks up the tab is. |

"I think the point is that Buell IS paying for the software install. My dealer would not have performed it on my bike if they didn't." That is not entirely accurate. Did that dealer get reimbursed for that claim by H-D? There is no guarantee that every warranty claim gets paid. I don't know the dealer or the scenario. But every time we have bent the rules for a customer, they promptly threw us under the bus. Then the motor company had to send a representative down to examine the bike. Then the customer was unhappy when we couldn't duplicate the concern. In your scenario, we would call the motor company, explain what the diagnostics produced, and they would guide us from there. Harley-Davidson/Buell dictates how warranty work needs to progress, the dealers are merely the agents administering the warranty process set forth by the motor company. They may say to try the updated calibration, if there is one, to see if that takes care of the problem. If it does, then great! Everyone is happy. But as a dealer, we need to follow the motor company's direction with any warranty issue. |

Using the H-D Calibration Search Tool, M3HUS04Z shows as the most current calibration. When entering 2008 Buell 1125R Domestic 49 State models, M3HUS05Z is available as a calibration. I do not know the differences here at home, but will post accordingly once I can get more info. |

Convinced the local dealer to plug in and look for updates. Plugged in and found the throttle solenoid code. He looked surprised, I told him I saw CEL on the way in...just in case they needed an excuse to plug in. He saw my humor (few do). 2 minutes later we were BS-in while it was reflashing. 15 minutes total and I was riding away happily with 05Z. Currently waiting on hold with CS to RAVE about the great service. ac |

05Z is also what I have. I thought I did but Buell CS said that the 04Z was the most current flash for the 2008. |
