Cool - didn't know he was set-up yet.

His home page http://www.higbee-racing.com/ has the "merchandise" spot to buy the shirts AND there is FINALLY a "Donate" button!!!

Heck, since I'm not racing this month, I can afford a couple bucks out of next paycheck.

Done.

This guy is the consummate incarnation of the "privateer" racer. There is no cooler thing that we can do to help that to toss $10, $10, $25, $50 or whatever you can do in the cyber hat.

Shawn is a really nice guy and during the infancy of what will soon be one of motorcycle racings finest shows it's neat to see him in there scraping and fighting with the big guys!

Awright ya bunch of cheap pr*cks; cough up some dough. Racing is expensive. Help the guy get a freakin' burger for lunch. If enough people donate, maybe he'll be able to buy Qualifying tires, or somethin' equally pricey.

Bought mine at Willow today.
Ebear was there so he should be posting some good pics sometime.
A fair amount of So. Cal. Buellers and Badwebbers were there.
I've met Shawn and Mitsu (sp?) before but first time to meet Shawn's wife. Three super people.
Actually so was all the other people there racing and crewing from Glendale and Bartel's.
Over all Shawn had a very good day but Slaughter was crewing for him so he should tell the story.
Shawn is scraping those tiny little stock toe pegs on the brake and shifter away in the corners, he will eventually be in need of new ones. Wow.

Thanks for the pics again Ebear!!!

I was telling Mitsu that he's starting to get his own fan club too. He even got a T shirt from Glenn Dolph (Unibear12r) - "Erik and the 200 against the world!"

How cool is that when Higbee's mechanic is starting to get his own following??!!

I hope Shawn is starting to realize the level of interest out here in his becoming "our" racer.

A bunch of us do some occasional volunteer pit-slavery, Mitsu does the wrenching, Marianne TRIES (and tries and tries and tries) to keep everybody on track, on purpose (she won't call herself a "manager" but she sure IS!!)

Looking forward to Laguna in a couple weeks.

Gonna be FUN to be watching the races when we have a "dog in the fight."

This weekend was FUN. The motor that Mitsu had put together had just been broken in and Shawn was reporting it getting stronger AND running cooler by the 3rd race of the day.

Oh and (YAAAAaaaawwwwnnnnn....) Shawn OF COURSE dominated both the Twins classes - winning by almost 30 seconds. In the unlimited Toyota Formula One race, he placed 7th. Keep in mind that in that race, he's still running a virtually stock motor in a class with high dollar prize money ($10K purse) - and NO RESTRICTIONS on engines. Jeremy Toye and Jeff Tigert (1st and 2nd) are running CBR1000RRs at 180+HP)

Yeah, HP isn't everything - but to be AT LEAST 40 HP down really makes it tough AND makes a top 10 finish all the more impressive.

"I was telling Mitsu that he's starting to get his own fan club too."

Are there going to be a lot of Buell fans at Laguna Seca? How cool would it be if someone printed up a bunch of "MITSU" signs and handed them out to the Buell fans?

A group of 20 people waving "Mitsu" signs might catch the eye of the Speed TV people . . . at least enough to ask: "Who the heck is Mitsu?"

I just got an E-mail from Shawn that says:
Thank you for your donation to Higbee Racing. Your support is really appreciated and help keeps me motivated to do better at each race. Hope to see you at the NJ AMA event later this year!

Take care,

Shawn Higbee

He's our boy. We need to help him out as much as we can. I'm poor, but I can afford to send a sawbuck or two every paycheck. If everyone could do the same, just think of what might happen! Shawn, Marianne and Mitsu might get to eat a decent meal the night before a race. Or maybe they would splurge and get a room at the Luxurious Motel 6!
And who knows; maybe our starving Privateer will beat some factory sponsored bikes!
What the hell, if I don't send the money to Shawn, I'd probably just blow it on take out; instead of cooking at home one night a week.

Ditto! Actually got 2 thank you's, one for buying a HR shirt and a second for the donation.

His email said that he would be at NJ Motorsport Park (looks like Labor Day w/e), but does anyone know if he'll be a Mid Ohio in July?

Shawn IS going to Mid Ohio (and will miss the July races in Willow Springs because of it)

He SHOULD make the rest of the AMA schedule as far as I have heard.
