I noticed that my new 1125cr has been dripping gas out of what I think is an overflow tube on the left rear of frame, onto the floor of the garage when I put it away after a ride. I see a stain about 2-3 inches across where it puddled and smells like gas.
anyone else have this problem? do they all do this?
I there a fix?
when it was parked outside I didn't notice it, maybe just evaporated without leaving a residual puddle.

That's been one of the quirks. Originally the tube was routed differently and dripped on the muffler. I think many started letting their bikes cool outside before bringing them in to eliminate smelling the odor in the garage.

Use the search and you'll see the strings where it was discussed.

This has been issue since the 1125R came out. The rerouting of the gas line to the passenger peg has not helped the situation ... although instead of dripping on the muffler it just creates a puddle on the left side of the bike.

I have found that If I open the gas cap after riding that this releases the pressure and the fuel does not drip out of the tube. Although you need to be careful I did have the boiling fuel splash up and burn my hand after opening the gas cap once. Since then I slowly lift the cap up to release the pressure then I just let the bike sit there for awhile with the cap not locked in place.

Also, I'm not sure if anyone has had an issue ... but it is very difficult to turn the key in the gas cap, especially after a ride and the motorcycle is hot. I'm worried that I'm going to break the key one of these days when I need gas.

Anyone else have this issue?

Yes, I just had the same problem with my 08 1125R. Stopped to get gas and thought key was going to break off while trying to unlock gas cap. Bike was not that hot, had only been running ten minutes from house to gas station.

My Aprilia has done that. I push down slightly on cap when I turn key.Works so well I do that on all my bikes now.

I also got a check engine light and low fuel light- dealer checked it and says sensor is the problem and will fix at the first service.

The dealer rerouted mine to the left rear peg during one of my recalls. They're usually good about telling me all the work that's done but the reroute somehow slipped thru the cracks. I usually hang my full face helmet on my left rear peg when I stop. I reached down after stopping one day, put the helmet on and was greeted by a gas soaked helmet. I waited a couple mins for the gas to evaporate but eventually just figured the air from riding would dry it faster. Ahh the smell of gasoline in the morning....

My R did drip quite a bit when I first started breaking it in. It doesn't seem to do it as much now but I also tend to let it cool down outside before cramming it into my garage. I also made the mistake by putting my helmet on the peg. As much as I love the smell of gas my helmet resides right under the windshield and fits pretty well there.

Another thing to remember with the 1125s, is that its better if you fill them up with only to about 2 inches below the neck of the fill hole. I filled my bike all the way to the very top the first day I had it (only rode it 10 miles) and it was peein gas all over the place.....had the dealer come get it because I thought it was messed up, and they told me that I just overfilled it. Ive not filled it past the neck of the hole again and its never leaked again.

Doh, just made this mistake with my CR. Fuel pissing all over the place, I thought a brake line or oil cooler line had ruptured or something when I saw all the fuel in the parking lot. Black bike parked on black top in southern Arizona in spring... go figure. I'll have to remember to push down on the gas cap while trying to unlock it and also to not completely fill the tank.
