Hey Jeff,

Will the lady speaking for the ride be selling tickets for the Norton?

"A 1992 RSS1200 Buell cost $17,000.00 new in '92."

Yeah, that was quite a bit too. I'm sure that Norton will have no problem selling everything they build. I was never really into the British bikes like I was HD but I did like the Commandos in their day and the new ones look to be pretty nice.

Paul

I believe that is more of a national contest, Teresa will only be talking about the local event.

I found out about the Norton give away same as you... the web page. They did not mention it at the local meeting. Looks to me like you can enter on-line for the Norton give away.

There will be a raffle of a New Honda motorcycle for the Ride for Kids at the Kansas City ride. We do not know what model at this time.

Sam...

That kart is just too cool. A full liter minimum! If I would have been born rich instead of so damn handsome, I'd have a toy like that... and so many others!

Two words... CLUB PROJECT!!!

Who has a high reving jap engine to donate???

BTW...

The CT70 rig you put together is bordering on perfect!!! I set it in the back of the CRV and put the minitrail on it... and it fit like a glove!!! It now also functions as a stand to strip the mini as I disassemble for the rebuild. I could not be happier with the thing! Scott thought the "field trip" was pretty cool!

He is getting excited about the mini project. I told him I'd like for us both to do the mini... but we only get every other weekend together, and it is my cabin fever project. He said he at least wanted to do all the assembly together after all is acquired/fixed/powder coated to be both of us project. I see no reason that can't be... and plan on him doing most of the hands on with my guidance and help. He is getting more excited about the mini project than me... and I am pretty hyped about it all!

"Thanks" does not seem like a strong enough word for fixing me up today! I really appreciate it!!!

Sam,
When I lived in Texas in 1979-80 I had a cart I built ,had bigger tires than that one, that I put a 550 4 cylinder honda motor with an aftermarket header on it and it ran like a raped ape..I let a county cop ride it one day and he was gone for over a hour on it , I knew he was on his way back from all the sirens and the 4-5 cop cars that followed him onto the lot where Ii was working, the cops jumped out guns drawn until the county cop got up off the cart and took hiss helmet off ,guns went away and after the bull session and a few other cops rode the cart I had complete run of the city anytime I wanted to drive the cart all I got from the cops were a wave and a smile ,,those were the good ole days wouldn't happen now days....the top end was faster than I ever rode it...well over a 100 as I was clocked at around 105 and it still had get up and go at that speed ,as I recall I was only in 3 gear then but it started getting lite on the wheels so you couldn't max it in either 4 th or 5th gear .....

Hey, can we make a shaft drive work on the cart?

I can get a Yamaha 1100 XS special any time we want, it runs great, just has a bad gas tank and carbs are freshly gone through.

For about 800.00 cash I can get it for whomever?

let me know, it's sitting in my shop at work and my boss really wants to see it go!

Dennis,
You drinking all Sams beer again?? You can't be doing that kind of stuff right now!! Sam is pinching his pennies about as tight as you do!!! Take it easy on the guy! He has to pay for a Wedding!! Then he has to buy her the Barbie dream house!!

My prediction is that, high dollar Bodka and decent beer in the refrig at the bachelor pad will soon be switched to gordons and PBR!

Keith

p.s. Sam, give me a call when you schedule the bachelor party! there is no way in hell I am missing that event!!!

Digger...

You weren't at the last BRAG meeting. A sticker has been placed on that refrigerator and that beer has been seized... the frig and all the stickers on the frig may be Sam's... but once that sticker when on it... the beer inside was seized and it became "gubmint" property... AND I AM THE PROPERTY CUSTODIAN!

So... I am drinking MY beer... it just happens to be stored at Sam's garage... and he get to drink some too!!! They is fairness here... what he drinks is considered "rent or storage fees" for the use of his frig!

bolt...

I have returned to this planet... for how long I do not know (the landing really sucked, read on)... damn kids on Mars with the remote control cars are tearing the place up... and I may have to go back, to end that childish vandalism. I must agree with the observation that there is no intelligent life on Earth... billions spent so a couple of guys can race remote controlled cars around the surface of another planet! What... are the public parks that congested???

Friday night I was walking around the house to go in the bike shop... and almost made it... when I was attacked by the dreaded earth ice. Both feet when up and straight out... for what seemed like a long time I hung in the air... much like a scene from The Matrix... knowing what will happen next... as time froze with me suspended in midair, I considered yelling "Scotty, Beam me up!"... that thought was followed by what always happens next in those movie scenes... there was a sudden gravitational shift which exponentially increased my vertical descending velocity as I came nearer and nearer to the surface of this planet, which also caused my body to rotate slightly clock-wise.

Upon my return to contact with earth... my first point of touch down was my right fore-arm near the elbow... followed by the remainder of my mass drawn earthward at sickening fast speed by a sudden and focused increase in gravitational pull. It must have been something like someone slamming a book flat down onto a desk. The fall was not the problem... but the sudden stop really sucked!!!

To shorten this... I fall down go boom! BIG TIME!!!

As I am laying on the ice, waiting for the house to fall on me. I finally find the ability to speak... some might call it taking the lords name in vain (for those who come from this planet, though I do not)... others a pointed prayer... I calmly look at the house and came to the conclusion it is not what will hit me next.. these words slowly and calmly come out of my mouth, "gawd damn!" What exactly I was requesting to me damned I am not sure... maybe that one inch think ice that initiated an unprovoked attacked upon me... maybe gravity for aiding and abetting the ice... maybe the hit with a fu*king hammer pain upon impact. In any case the request did not work, nor did it cause more doom for my exasperating comment... nor was I struck by lightning... though either would not have been a surprise at that moment.

I have a bruise the size of my fist just forward to and slightly inboard of my right elbow. Which is mildly uncomfortable when I lean on my arm... which I did not realize I did as often as I do, as I am discovering over the past few days.

Some might say I was lucky I did not land more on my elbow than my fore-arm... if this would have been the case... I would have surely broken my arm. I see it a bit differently... had I broken my arm... it would have healed in time for "riding season", so it would not have impacted on being able to ride with the Mob... I have 500+ hours of sick leave that I will lose when I retire soon, and since there is no such thing as "light duty" in my job description... I would have "had" to stay home and burn sick leave for 6 weeks or so. So in some ways I feel disappointed that I did not break my arm... as I could really use a break (no pun intended) from that little corner of hell, and could have burned the thousands of dollars in sick leave which will be lost when I escape from the indentured service, thus "winning" that battle.

In any case much can be learned from this... guys... take my advise... don't fall on the ice... the sudden stop after falling really sucks!!!! If I could only get my doctor to prescribe a couple of beers at lunch, this would be so much better!!!

Dennis is one of the few people that can take (I slipped on the ice and fell on my elbow) and turn it into a full page story. Women must love the lengthy conversations with you instead of the short factual ones they get with most guys, and your typing skills must be awesome with all of the lengthy reports you have to write at work.
