Above is accurate . . . I don't have access to my photos right now . . . while 253GB are being archived, but here is a photo from 1997 showing S1 motors. They are delivered by the truck load in racks. . . . and were the basis for one of the funniest Buell stories ever AND the only "high crime" ever committed at East Troy. . . remind me to tell you some time.

Steve, Court or whoever knows the answer. What Harley plants in the Milwaukee have guided tours? Did they close the one on Capital drive recently? One thing I want to see this coming summer is where the motors are made. I'm only a hour away. |

Don, I'm not sure anymore. And my brother who has worked there for 30+ years is on vacation currently, so I can find out, but it'll take a week or so. |

it like the difference between Fords and Mazda. same fing motor with different tweaks. its like saying the 2.3 truck is different motor compared to the 2.3 na car or the 2.3 turbo. |

The motor plant in Menomonee Falls offers tours. I believe you can probably find the schedule on the HD web site. I did the tour last year during Homecoming. I was not impressed. Maybe I caught them on a off day but we did not see much assembling going on. |

thanks Frank, I just looked it up on HD's website and found tours at the Powertrain plant on Capital Drive in Wauwatosa. http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/Content/Pages/F actory_Tours/wauwatosa.jsp?locale=en_US |

I am proud to own a Buell and explain it's story almost everytime. But it is way too much fun to get under the "Harley guys" skin at work when I call mine a Harley.

I don't call mine a Harley at all. It just has Harley blood in it, that's all. If Harley is the "parent" company than I guess that makes Buell Harley's "kid". Kids are younger, faster, and different than their "parent". They're rebellious and do things their own way. Besides, you can't embarrass a jap bike in the twisties with a Harley. You can with a Buell. |

Do you get feelings of rage when they're too dumb to understand? This is normal. Good one. I just tell people it's a scooter. } |
