I will know they have started shipping when I see one on the showroom floor at my local dealer.... OR... Maybe Buell will email the "Owners Group" a big picture of them being loaded on a Semi, kinda like the production has started pic. But until something like that happens, wish in one hand a take a crap in the other. I think we will know which one will fill up faster. |

so Court, are you implying that the 1125R delay is no longer on hold and that production has been restarted? I don't think they ever said production was on hold, just that it was proceeding slowly so they could work out some QC issues. I do think they said deliveries are on hold until they produce enough bikes to deliver a decent quantity of bikes all at once. |

Hugh, I think someone said well over a week ago that they had 160 built, and slower than they would like to be. And were going to be slower because of the part shortage. Well, at least mine is already built :-) |

Hugh...there was a shortage of parts that an Anony had posted elsewhere, that had held up production. no parts = no build this was due to all the changes and adjustments implemented after the press ride at Laguna Seca and following track days. the 1125R that was initialy introduced was basically a "beta" version. What will ship to dealers will be actual production versions. if you look at it another way....these will be '09 bikes shipping a year early. As an Anony had stated elsewhere, there will be few if any changes made to the '09 1125R bikes. (Message edited by bobup on November 27, 2007) |

c'mon Court after the press release (I meant 'ride') at Laguna Seca, BMC started to make changes and YOU know that already....or have you got short term memory loss |

Bob: Tell me what the tardy part from the vendor was? What if it had NOTHING to do with any of the things that were studied after Laguna Seca? I think sometimes the internet is just a bit quick to assume cause and effect. I don't think I have short term memory loss but help me out and tell me which part it was (actually a couple, but just choose one) that held up production. |

Anonymous Posted on Saturday, November 10, 2007 - 12:33 am: -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ There are bikes built and waiting, but not as many as we had expected, and so they are on hold so that they won't dribble in super slowly, making a few happy and most frustrated. The delays are due to parts supply from a couple of suppliers. Some of this is due to the final tweaks to get the bikes really right which caused some delays in getting suppliers up to speed. Please forgive us, we may have gone a little overboard in doing so many little refinements and then testing them before release, but the 1125's are going to be really, really good. That was our commitment, and it will be worth it. And because they are so refined, there will be very little if anything we will change for '09. |

Thanks Josh just what Court wanted (except an actual part name) |

I agree. SOME of it is . . . Case closed. Well done. |

I was going to guess the "hot right foot" part, but who knows. Maybe the redesigned "pucks" for the engine covers? (I still want to know if I can modify the parts to keep your feet from getting hot in the summer so i can keep 'em warm in the winter!) Will there be "build sheets" for the 1125Rs? So I'll know how many turns it took to torque part x onto widget y? I live for useless trivia! |

Inquiring minds want to know WHICH PARTS? WHAT ISSUES? So we can (of course) have more things to talk about before and after shipment of the bikes. Who knew and when did they know it? Its that kick ass and take names approach towards our favorite MC company... ;) |

Can you imagine what that is costing them? 26 days since the first one rolled off and still they aren't having any money coming in. I would want to a fly on the CFO's wall! |

Yeah, but think about how much they're gonna bring in, the week they ship them. I really wonder how many are already sold, like mine, waiting for delivery. They've got to be close to that number. They can't really think these bikes are going to languish on the sales floor do they? It's good tho, by the time the weather's nice, next summer, maybe there'll be enough of them built to get a demo ride somewhere on one that's not sold yet. By Christmas this wait will only be a memory. Over time, a happy memory. Right now it's maddening. Z |

Shoot by the end of next week this will be a memory I hope... But I don't know how many will fit in one truck and how many dealers there are. How many do they have ready to ship? How fast do those truck drivers drive... Can they skip lunch? There has to a least one deposit at every dealer. (i'm the only one at mine) A lot of people are waiting to swing a leg over and such though. I just hope I'm not out of town traveling (I do that a lot) when mine comes in. |
