Will a 180/60 fit the rimms of the tube framers that take a 170/60?I think I remember reading that they will clear everything ok,but was asked if it fit the rimms ok.

It will fit the PM, not the Marchesini / Castalloy wheel.

I ran a 180 on my X1. It looked really cool but slowed the bike down, I guess thats just to much rubber to be spinning on a stock X1.

Rich,
John here.
You state 180/60. Are you sure about the 60? The 180/55-17 will fit the bike. I have even run a 190 but it is very very close to rubbing the belt.
I now use the 180 all the time but I have PM wheels which are 5.5" wide. If I had the stock wheels which are only 5" wide, I would stay with
the 170.

For what its worth.

John,Im not sure about the 60.I remember reading someone with am X1,put a 180 on his bike and said it was ok.So youre saying that the stock rimms arent wide enough for the 180?

I know people who have run 180's on the stock rims. It gives it an over-round profile, but it fits.

Dunlop says mounting a 180/55 on a 5" wide wheel is acceptable, but not optimal. I ran a 180/55 207 on the back of my M2 with the stock 5" wheel but wasn't happy at all with the profile. OK for posing, but it actually put less rubber on the road at full lean - not good. I couldn't wait for it to wear out so I could go back to a 170/60.

Hay Gang,
Can anyone tell me if I can use a braided front brake line from an M2 on my 96' S1 Lightning?
I haven't taken the lines off so any help would be appreciated!
