Don't you think motor mounts should last longer than 7 months? Anyone have any luck with anything other than the factory ones? Could there be something else causeing this? The rear mounts have been replaced tie bars are in place ?????????????? Timn: Have a 1997 S3T also ... The front isolator is the same as the BIG TWIN FRONT ISOLATOR PN 16207-79C for $43.00 plus tax ... The BUELL FRONT ISOLATOR PN L0501.T which cross referances to"OLD" H-D PN 16207-79B and not as good as the -79C for $16.15 plus tax for a differance of $28.65 ... NOW WHAT IS THE PART NUMBERS ON THE ORIGINAL FRONT ISOLATOR AND THE NEW REPLACEMENT ??? The REAR ISOLATORS on the 1997 Models were off the SOFT TAIL BIG TWIN platform and the original PART NUMBER was 47564-86 which would only last but 30K to 40 K on a BUELL ... In 1999 BUELL replaced thses 47564-86 isolators with the "BUELLschitte" PART NUMBER ISOLATORS which were RIGHT PN L0505.9R and LEFT L0504.9L which would last ... Replaced the 47564-86 units at 40K with the 1999 up grade and now have 58K on them ... WHAT ARE THE ORIGINAL REAR ISOLATORS PART NUMBERS AND WHAT ARE THE PART NUMBERS OF THE REPLACEMENTS ??? Timn, A year or so ago several of us had front isolators fail after relatively short mileage. There was a never-confirmed theory that there was a bad batch of front isolators. You can get a much cheaper aftermarket replacement from J&P Cycles for $19.99. I purchased the front iso from dave at appleton because of all the talk about a bad batch. The lower rear rubber is tearing, and it is viberating more at idle and at certain rpms. | ||

I also bought a J&P after my relatively new factory isolator failed. No problems in ~3000 miles. | ||

Thanks for all the help and input guys. I spoke to Al @ American Sportbike, and its a crap-shoot (my words) if you get a good one from Buell. Al is a amazing resource for us, thank you. The JP Cycle part seems to be the best bet. Andy from appleton (I bought the original front iso from them) is going to send me a replacement FREE OF CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that's what I call customer service. Also Andy will chase down any further problems should the next one fail. Andy made a call to Buell, they said there has not been any reported problems with said isolator, but the post's on this site seem to contradict that. | ||

I've been running a J&P front isolator for about ~4K miles with no problems. It's a little stiffer than the HD part (feel more vibes at handlebar), and lasts MUCH longer. | ||
