I noticed the Uly only has only one headlight burning at a time. Does it seem to put out enough light? Are there ways to get them to both burn on high/low beam. I have an 04 Tiger and both of mine burn. I know the euro Tigers only burn one, but most modify to get both to burn. I'm looking forward to test riding the Uly next weekend. I'm hoping it really impresses. I like the idea of the belt drive and tubeless tires, which my Tiger doesn't have. I test drove the 07 Tiger last weekend and liked it, but not enough to get rid of the 04 yet.

I did the re wire mod early on in ownership. Not that I ride a lot at night,but this is a simple mod,swap some connector pins and you have 2 lights on high beam.I also had to focus the lights as the Hardley dealers didn't bother with any pre delivery service, I think I lost there interest as I don't wear XXXXL clothes !

I did the pin swap method and it helps on high beam with both lights running, but I still say the lights are backwards. My low beam is high and high beam is low. When I get time I will shoot some pics against the garage door and then rewire mine to swap the lights.

I ended up doing the rewire, silverstars, but wanted some more candlepower, I ended up with a set of PIAA 1100X's and a HID conversion.

Jmhinkle,

Are your bulbs fully seated inside the headlight casing? Meaning is the base of the bulb all the way flat against the casing? When I swapped my bulbs a couple weeks ago, I did not seat the high beam all the way. When I tested it out, it did what you are saying. The high beam was actually shooting down lower than the low beam. So, I took it all apart again and I discovered that the base of the lightbulb was not flush with the headlight casing making the bulb sit angled upward. Once I reseated it flush, it was good again.

Rick,
My bike has been this way from day 1. Side to side, it seems to match with all the other bikes that low is right and high is left (or whatever is supposed to be correct). It acted this way with the stock bulbs from the factory when I bought it and even after I swapped to the PIAA bulbs. The high beam provides a wide path of light that is low and slightly right like the USA specs for low beam should and the low beam shoots a high spot beam straight ahead into the eyes of oncoming traffic. I got sick of trying to figure it out and did the rewire and run with both bulbs on day and night. If I do flip the switch to low beam only it still bothers me mentally, because I know its not right.

i'm sure most of you know that if you jimmy it a bit, there is a "third" position between the high and low beam. just kind of push the switch half way and viola, LIGHT! (high and low will come on)

Glenn,
I ended up using the Xenon Depot 4300K motorcycle kit. It had 6ft between the ballast and igniter so I mounted the ballast under the tank cover.The setup has worked very well, although I probably could have used one of the $100 kits, since I did my own wiring harness.

That fusebox setup worked great. I posted some pics on this thread if you want to take a look..

Thanks for the tip on the "undecided position"! I'm almost tempted to open up the housing to put a small detent in the rocker so the switch can find this "undecided" position a little more easily.
