Curt,

I talked to Mike at the dealership and he forgot about the radios. He said he would check it out ASAP!

I would be interested in going up on Sat to the CRUD run. I'm still hoping to make it to Waterloo this Sun. to check out the Battletrax.

Buell Bash/BattleTrax weekend recap,
Saturday was our annual Buell Bash, the weather was great! We had a bunch of riders take out our new Buells for a demo ride. The KC mob came up for the day. We got Jeff a new tire mounted up on his S3 while he was there, thanks for the Biz Jeff! Attendance was a little off from last year but I think it was just too nice of a day. Everyone was out riding!

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!
Our second BattleTrax event! Whhooo Hooo! The weather held out for us at last. Temps in the 70s! We started the morning at 6am to set up the course. Jeremy and Larry did a great job on the course. It was HUGE! 2 barrels and lots of very tight corners made it interesting for everyone.

We had 44 riders,up 1 from last year but we had over 340 people thru the gate! The riders put in 502 runs by the end of the day so I think everyone got plenty of riding time. The course was big enough that we could get 3 or 4 on the course at one time, this cut down on the wait between rides.

We had riders with sportbikes,YSRs,cruisers and dual sport/motards, no touring bikes showed to compete this year. The stunt riders, Team XMX and Kansas City's Most Wanted put on 3 great shows for the crowd. Those guys are just plain nuts! We had a vendors row with lots of stuff to look at and buy.

We had Buell riders come from Mo,Kansas,Il,Mn,Ne and of course some of the locals from Waterloo in attendance! What a great day, everything went pretty smooth, I had lots of great help, even a few that didn't know they were going to help me(KCBill)we couldn't have done it without them.

All the winners, including 7 year old Mason got a framed certificate to show off that they are the fastest. All the riders got one with their fastest lap time of the day. The winners also recieved a $100.00 gift certificate from the HD/Buell Cycle Center(I'll send yours with your helmet and plaque Sam).

The big news(and no surprise to me) is that in the Sportbike class a Buell kicked ass! Sam, from KC ruled! The guy was an animal out there. I have to look at the time cards but I think he won by several seconds faster than anyone else in his class and was running close to the fast times set by the rider that won the Dual Sport/Motard class! Way to go Sam! You ROCK!!!!

Well I have to go get ready for work now but I'd like to say thanks again to those that helped make this day possible, without you we couldn't do events like this. I know that lots of people probably think, what's the big deal, just set up some cones and there you go. Well, I want to tell you that it's a lot of work! I, and others put in 13 hours yesterday alone to make this event happen. Thanks to all the people that helped me. You're the best!

Ride to the edge!

Hey yall,
I'm a new Bueller in the area. I just temporarily moved to Palatine from Dallas for a contract job for a few months, maybe longer. I didn't bring my X1 with me. I know, shame on me, but I just spent 6 months in Minneapolis and for obvious reasons (winter) I didn't take my bike with me there and I moved straight here from Minneapolis. But the good side to my story is I just won an auction on Ebay for an S1, so I will be going to Kansas some weekend soon to pick that up. Then I'm hoping to meet up with yall to terrorize the armadillos on the back roads. Oh wait, there ain't no armadillos up 'round these parts. Well, I'm sure there is still plenty of fun to be had tearing around to countryside up here.

I look forward to meeting yall and riding around this part of the country with yall this summer.
Kevin

Bertsdirt, welcome to the Windy City. The picture of the aircraft carrier on you home page rocks. Just some info if you'd like. We have BRAG meetings on the first Thurs. of every month at Illinois Harley Davidson/Buell in Berwin Ill. It's located approx.1 mile south of I290 on Harlem Ave. We try to start the meetings at 7:00pm, but we usually start a little later due to all the BSing goin' on. Come if you'd like, and bring some of them there armadillos with ya.

Bertsdirt,

I live north of Chicago (and east of you) and can show you some local routes and gathering places that are worth the ride. As Brent suggested, join us at Windy City to meet others from the area. Keep checking here, too, because there are many other local events in the works. When will you have your bike(s) in the area ready for some riding?

ZWARTE 10 pm Backwaters NightClub (right across the street from Clat Adams Park) This Band plays every year at Sturgis and are a very good Rock and Roll Band. It Usually cost $15 when they are in town. Backwaters is a million dollar night club built in the middle of a town of 50,000. So to say that it is extremely impressive for a small town is an understatement!

The Dock. I am assuming they will be having bands or activities either during the day or evening. They have posted no info at this point. This is the local Harley Bar. It is right on the riverfront right next to all the other events. it is unimpressive to look at, but usually a great time! It has an outdoor beergarten and stage.

Sunday June 8th

Blessing of the Bikes 8:30am OLC

closing comments 9am OLC

Brent,
Were you and a few others still planning a Deal's gap trip in May?

Dave, yes we are planning a trip to the Gap. But the dates are June 18th - 21st. We have 2 camp sites reserved and can fit probably 3-5 tents per site. The sites are paid for, so the lodging is FREE! We have 3 confirmed tents right now. We are going to limit the number of tents to 10, but I don't think we will have that many. The sites are at Fontana Village.

Thanks for the welcomes. I'll try to get out to Il HD Thursday evening to meet some of yall. I let my Brag membership expire because we didn't have any local active groups in Dallas, but will gladly rejoin since it sounds like this local Brag is active. If I can, I'm going to get my bike this weekend or at least the following weekend. Then I gotta see if Il DOT will let me register it with an outta state drivers license. I wonder if they'll make me get an Il drivers license. Anyone know?
