Well, I dropped my S3T last weekend. I was doing a fairly slow turn onto a two lane and hit gravel. I went down on my left side, still a little sore in my arm and back. My leather pants, jacket and gloves took all the abraisan so I don't have a scratch on me.

Damage to my bike is not bad, shifter busted, front axle dinged, hand grip torn, clutch lever bent, fairing lower cracked, mirror scratched, turn signal busted, and saddle bag cover scrapped. I would like to buy painted replacement parts but I'm wondering how well they will match up.

It is a 2001 blue streak. Does anyone have any experience with replacement painted parts and how well they match?

Thanks,
Mark

I had to replace the tank and fly screen a few years back on my reactor yellow M2. Unfortunately the color was so off I had to replace everything. The new color was a lot nicer anyway. Yellow is tough to match you might do a lot better than I did. Maybe time for a custom color???

The colors may not necessarily be off. It depends mostly on the condition of your painted set. A proper polishing will do wonders to even maintained paint sets. I've personally seen colors transform while working on a finish, be it car or bike. (Have my own detailing business)

Take all your good parts, make sure they are good and polished/buffed and I bet you see a difference in color with your messed up pieces. Blue will brighten up and deepen considerably.

Buying all new is going to be pricey, repainting current pieces might be more cost effective - maybe go custom like Mwellm said.

Either way, good luck, and glad just your bike got beat up.

I dropped my S3 at speed in the mountains of WV last year and trashed the left bag. My bike is Demon blue and the replace bags are pretty close. However the style of hinges are different and I had to transfer from my old bags.
