Can anyone tell me roughly what it would cost to buy new parts and put an R tail on a 2005 XB12s? Thanks, Brad. |

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'd like to know how much to convert an XB12S front end (handlebars/instrument cluster/windscreen) to an XB12R? Anybody know the rough numbers to Ride's and my questions? |

I like the tail of the R better, but I'd take the front end of the S anyday. (thus the reason I got an S) |

Thanks, Dave. I'm still shopping for a bike, think I prefer the R, but there is a really good deal here on an S. Brad. |

With EBAY parts, it cost me nearly $500 to do the conversion. The subframe will be the most expensive part. |

Hmmm, I am considering going from an r to s to make it more passenger friendly. |

When switching to the "R", can you leave the ecm, fuse box etc (all the stuff under the seat) in the "S" location? |

Dan, from some pics I have seen it can be done, just zip-tied off to the side in the subframe. My guess it would be a real pain to change the whole harness over to an R's |

I'd say the firebolt is more passenger friendly than the lightning (except maybe the long) |

My guess it would be a real pain to change the whole harness over to an R's ~~~~~~~~~ You can't, in any event - there's literally no place to put the fuse and relay block up front if you swap harnesses. R front on an S = OK R tail on an S = OK S tail on an R = OK S front on an R = NOT OK You all should have just bought Rs to begin with, they're better anyway. ![; )](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/winker.gif) |

Can't say either way, I'm not the passenger type. Did it once and did not care much for that type of experience. It is more fun to be the rider. The few that have ridden as passengers on my bike (the stock one) all complained of sore crotches. Not sure what this says about: a) my riding style b) the select seat with the crotch cut out c) the general set up of the passenger area I know I'm leaving myself open to all kinds of comments, please be kind. |

The only problem with the harness that I am aware of is the rear turn signals will require longer cables to reach the connectors on the harness. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this. Parts required: rear sub-frame rear plastics tray license plate mount kit seats lock kit for the trunk Zip ties to keep everything neat I'll take pictures tonight and post. I know there's something I'm missing. |
