Hello, What is the best way to stand theese bikes up? Don't think a regular motorcycle jack will work no real frame underneath.Thought I saw a axel stand or center stand. Can I make one or where is best place to buy one? How much? THANKS |

I securely hook a comealong to the joists in the roof of my garage. I have not suspended the XB this way yet, but it was fairly easy to find secure points for motorcycle tie downs to anchor to the M2, and hook theo other end to the come along, and just wratchet whichever end I need supported up. I would generally try and keep some jackstands in strategic places as well when possible, in case there was a catastrophic failure of some sort. |

Also, you can put some jackstands under the footpeg mounts. This works really well for anything that allows the front end to stay on. |

I bought this centerstand. I understand it is not produced anymore, but there are still vendors I haveseen advertising them. I got mine used for $75 + shipping, they were $125 new I believe. It works great for everything from oil changes to more serious work as you can see.

The pitbull would have been my next choice, but I like the center stand better since I was removing my swingarm. |

And then there is the official cheapskate way of doing it: I needed to jack up Ol Yaller to change the front tire, and I couldn't get the jack from my cage under the muffler. So I jacked up the rear wheel using the usual rear wheel stand. Then I grabbed a couple of 2x 6's that were laying around, and put three of them under the bike. Then I took a five foot piece of 2x6, (seen in the photo to the right of the stack of wood under the muffler), and levered the muffler up about an inch while another guy steadied the bike, and slid the the fourth piece of 2x6 under the muffler. When I lowered the lever, we had about a half inch under the front wheel. Worked like a Charm, ( until the contractors wanted their 2x6's back:-). After I put the wheel back on, we just reversed the procedure: levered the muffler up a half inch, kicked out the top piece of 2x6, lowered rear stand, and put the bike back on the kick stand. Still a two man job. Cost: .00 Time about two minutes, once I figured it out:-) |

The stand in Koz's photos is the CenterStand model BCS-1. They were out of production for a while but are now back in production and in stock. I got a new one from them last week. I really like the stand, it is very well made. And I can use a floor jack to pick up the front of the bike at the same time, it really makes working on a tuber a lot easier. CenterStand also has a lift for non-tubers that is called the "Pit-Boss". Jack |

Hey guys, I just shot over to the website for Center stand and purchased one of these bad boys. I talked with them at length about the stands and they informed me that they were about 2 weeks out from shipping these items. The are receiving new hooks and our currently out of stock on the old ones. I was going to replace my tire this weekend, looks as though I get to wait. Like my daddy always said "Good things come to those who wait" Micah |

I just got mine in last night from American Sport Bike. ( Center Stand ) They e mailed me after I ordered it to tell me they got the maker to do another batch, since it was discontinued. It was a month + wait, but they are now available, again. Excuse me while I go play with it. Works great, I'd toss a bag of lead shot/sandbag on the handle while doing anything strenuous. Don had discontinued them, I talked him into making a run of 10 for me. Sold most of those before they even came in, had him make me 10 more. I have front and rear pitbull stands that I use more often, but for some jobs, this centerstand is just the ticket. If I could only have one stand, this one would be it. http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?usr=51F3280597&rnd=9500 051&rrc=N&affl=&cip=69.160.135.44&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=6182&cat=&catstr= |
