Nice work keeping the weight off. That's really the hard part, it's just so damn easy to revert back to the ways that earned you the gut in the first place.

Since we had a little protein discussion yesterday...this is what I have found to be my favorite whey protein powder because it is digested slower.

You don't have to be working out to use it, though it's great for post-workout or post-exercise to help muscles recover. I drink a scoop for breakfast every day at work. Best prices are from online vendors, and a big tub will last a long time.

That looks like good stuff for post-workout if you're working on building muskels. The calories-to-protein are a bit higher than regular whey so it's probably not the best for weight loss if you're not working out.

Are you noticing a benefit in muscle growth?

I think so.... or maybe its the lighting in my basement... LOL
Recovery time is quick but the next time I go to GNC I will look for something low cal.

funny how that works...improvements come so slowly that it sometimes seems like it's just in your head. But if you think you look thinner/leaner/builter then that's the results happening.

I used GNC 100% whey for a long time. Just the plain and simple stuff, mainly cuz it is the cheap option. I like it ok but I found this nutrition shop near my place that carries a bunch of brands and that's where I found the 12-hour protein.

Use whatever you like and seems to work, the important part is getting the protein.

Congrats to the success stories on here and for those that are starting.

Have you guys discussed glycemic index and insulin production?

How about the production of the Big "T" yeah Testosterone? Both are keys in staying fit and lean along with weight training. (Got to keep and gain muscle mass)

Oh and I'm a fat guy just waiting to happen so I'm always working to not be one. I'm 5'-9", 188.4 lbs and 14.3% body fat and want to show off the 6 pack this summer, so I have to drop some of the body fat.

The office junk food is always a challenge.....I always tell myself that "Skinny guys don't eat that...and I'm going to stay a skinny guy". Then go back to my desk and have some raw almonds.

alright guys....... This year I'm in!!

Time to drop some pounds.

Started working out 2 days ago...
Stretch for 5 minutes, hit the eliptical with pretty high resistance for 50 minutes & stretch for another 5 minutes.

No big changes in diet as I need to keep it realistic!

Trying to do that every other day and on the off days the wifey makes me do the wii fit, which is pretty fun too!

Buying a scale soon and will post results every few weeks!

Thanks all and good luck!!!!

Weighed in this morning after my workout and have dropped 4lbs. this week. Not a huge number but very doable with my schedule so I'm hoping to repeat that number this week!

I haven't weighed yet for this last week. I got my exercise though. Went backpacking with my wife and a married couple we're friends with. Yesterday a little over 2.5 mi from the cars on a strenuous mountain trail our friend fell and broke her ankle. It took 7 hours of carrying her on my back and us dragging her on a tarp to get her back to the car.

I'm sore, man.

Trying hard but all last week I was traveling for work which is a tough way to try and lose weight. I think my bought of food poisoning saved me but I would have rather not went through that. Congrats to everyone who is trying. Keep it up. The gym I go to we see every year an influx of what we call "new equipment capital providers" from 1/1 until mid February then it goes back to the normal regulars and a few newbies. Stick with it

I've gained some back in recent years but I'm headed down again.

Thanks for the kind words, it does feel pretty good.

I must say that I am a little disappointed tho, as I thought the chicks would be throwing themselves at me by now. When I told my GF about this, she reminded me that my personality hasn't changed and that's why it still doesn't happen.

makes sense.

You have every right to be extremely proud, it's a huge accomplishment and, bar none, the single best thing you can do for your health.

Recently I peeled off about 25# and watched my blood pressure, which is not a real problem, drop concomitantly. Weight is the single greatest threat to your health.

The weight, in and of itself, is not a problem but it significantly exacerbates all other health concerns.

The shining part of this is that you'll likely add a number of years to your life . . . time you can use to work on that personality.

: )

I recommend you do it aboard a Buell!
