That would be Ferris's phone charger. He's now got mine, so we'll figure something out.

We're off to Kansas!

Sorry I didn't take the time to talk to Richie, Bill and Sam... Miss you guys alot! Thanx for taking care of our buddy Jerry. What a piece of work, eh?

Hey,Jerry. Here's a tip--when you get up and it's DARK---go back to bed!!! You really need to adjust to real people's schedule, this 4 AM rising is for sick sick sorts.
P.S. there will be pain involved.
Denise,I'll take some Modello Especial,thanks.
And wanted to know what direction you are departing in before Wrightwood. If you are headed the right way I'll tag along and head off to Buttonwillow.

Thunder- Thanks for the hospitality at your house last night. GREAT BBQ!

I think I am speaking for all the KC guys. We had an absolute blast riding with Jerry and his entourage. Talk about an adventure! I am glad I could be a part of it, even if it was just part of the whole leg.

It was a pleasure meeting and riding with all of you. Good luck Jerry

I would like to add a few things as I get time...

here's something that struck me as funny and thought some of you might get a kick out of.

posted by Madduck:
"I assume my Ulysses its still going strong. "

my response:

"VERY strong as of yesterday/last night.

I hate to say it, but it's delivery may be the equivalent of putting it to pasture."

Ride Ferris Ride!

I am sitting here at work estimating about where they are now and wishing I was still riding along. Thoughts of all the cool things and people I saw yesterday keeping me from doing any real work.

As I know a lot of people are watching this thread I hate to clutter it up with my experience, but I am going to anyways, as Ferris looks to be kinda old and his memory may be failing him when he gets home....Maybe something I note will remind of something for his book/story, like who exactly it is, that bike belongs to.

Paul, don't be surprised if you recieve about 4000 requests for a motorcycle in the next few days as people start to figure out exactly what happened here. big KUDOS. big HEART. big appreciation. I'll shake your hand someday I hope. As you can tell I had a good time, one of the best ever with the Buell Crew.

more to come.

>>>this 4 AM rising is for sick sick sorts.

Huh? . . I was on the Fon with Pharris at 4:00AM.

I suspect that, due to expected events, Pharris and my friendship may have been strained beyond repair.

My Mother, the Buell fanatic, became a Great (she was always GOOD) Grandmother just days ago and is doing the coddle thing. Ergo, my sister was waiting for Pharis & The Pharoes when they arrived in Topeka.

By 8:00AM I had the complete tech report on the bike and our wayward friends were now westward friends.

I suspect, by nightfall, that PalPharris will have a new respect for what "expansive" means when used in reference to Kansas real estate.

Have fun and ride safely (and don't miss the Manitou Incline. . one of my favorites from when I was a kid)

Court

Shazam,

You are experiencing a lot of what transpired in the mid 90's when a group of enthusiasts started buying and riding Buells. It is really nice to see the surge of enthusiasm in riding Buells come back. Really glad to be a small part of it. Have Court and Woz tell some of the Fran Crane story sometime. Really great seeing the passion among the riders again.

I would like someone to start getting a list of participants so that Ferris will have a record of the people that shared in his great adventure.

Hope Court is keeping the factory people up to date on the progress of the bike they made. Really starting to miss it and I haven't ridden it yet.

You did tell Ferris that there about 600 miles to go before he has to turn again, didn't you. Them california guys just gotta turn every so often!!

I expect this will be Ferris' last trip across the Great Plains.

Why do I have this image in my mind of Jerry/Ferris writing slogans and images in farm fields with the Uly.

I was born and raised in Kansas and I feel sorry for anyone that has to drive the long ways across the state.
My is sore just thinking about it.

The Salt Lake contingent leaves for Grand Junction in the morning to join the fun.

Well...
I had to bail from Topeka this morning and head back east. My boss wants me to be at 'work'on Friday and Ferris and I sorta decided that riding across Kansas on back to back days wasn't the most practical thing to do and certainly wasn't good for one's sanity. So... I made the cannon ball run from Topeka to East Dubuque (650 miles on the 'Bolt, didn't figure I could do that) and got here a few hours ago. Just cracked a liquid muscle relaxer and things are good.

Spoke with Ferris a few minutes ago, he's sitting in front of the Colorado Springs Airport waiting for Denise to walk out, so they both made it there in great shape. Very cool that Denise will be testing the two-up capabilities of the Uly.

Court's sister showed up at Topeka Buell this morning at 6 am with a big bag full of McMuffins and hashbrowns, coffee too. There were some pretty cool stories that were told.

Dick German and his wife came up to visit as well, which was VERY cool. I tried to meet up with Dick during my RANE (RANA?) ride last summer, but couldn't swing it due to time constraints. Very nice to finally meet them both and share some stories.

I've pics to post, but will wait until Ferris starts up again as to not steal his steam.

I did 1900 miles over the extended weekend, met LOTS of great people and rode lots of great roads. Thanks to everyone who was out, it was an awesome time.

Sorry I couldn't make it out to Colorado and Vegas, this responsibility thing is scaring me.

Ride, Ferris, Ride. Great to see you again.

I left Ferris at Hays KS at about 12:30 pm CST. We had a little rain today and we actually lucked out because it poured in western Kansas.

My ride home was rain until I got east of Junction City 20 mile or so.

Ferris was looking at Sunny riding west on I-70, it was like the the Clouds parted for him!!

I really enjoyed seeing Alex once again and I am honored that I finally got to meet " Ferris Bueller"!! Life is Good!!

Ferris & Alex thanks for the experience!!!

Oh and Topeka HD/Buell had us on the road before 8 am.... Thanks to Bruce Zimmerman & Parker !!

Also thanks to Chris Canfield for bring breakfast to us at the dealer!! And Thanks!! Court for making it all happen this morning!!

: )
