You might start by providing a bit more information, such as:

Buell model
Tires
Suspension settings
Nature of the handling problem

Stuff like that, so members will be better able to assist you.

Ok Jon
Buell X1 ,2001
d205 3rd set of skins since new second set of 205's no problems with prior set
should be as delivered noticed loose shock spring lock nut tightened it up rear end rides about the same
bike does not wallow in corners just shakes its head above 80 mph and is "twitchy" 60 to 80

I have read through what seems to be likely stuff
but there is a ton of stuff on the board

If I lean over the tank it helps
front motor mount looks ok bolts are intact
no visible leakage shock or forks
tire on front appeared to be scuffing off center
on interstate but there was a cross wind

I am going to review the shop manual
any input is welcome

Check air pressure (both tires)first, then look to see if the front tread is cupping, might still have lotsa tread but this makes for funny handling. How is your grip on bars when this happens?Too tight will give unwanted inputs.

Always check the easy stuff first. Tire pressure, rear wheel alignment, isolators, axle and steering head bearings. Check to see if the fork adjustments got out of synch with each other.

Loose apparel that flaps can cause it too. I would suspect the tire pressures or front tire cupping though.

It sounds like your bike won't follow a straight line if you let go of the handlebars, is that correct?

Best bet is find STOCK settings and reset all suspension settings to this. Then set SAG.Make certain no leaks in shocks or loose pinch bolts on front shocks and rear wheel is in line with front.Use straight edge if possible.Check tire pressure. Now you have a starting point!

I had a new Dunlop do this and it made me crazy trying to figure out what it was. If you have a bud that would let you test with his front wheel, try that. Did this happen right after you put on the new tires?

Wow!
Thanks for the input(s) All!

FMJ:
I will double check pressure and "Cupping" on front. and I do tend to hold tight P.I.O?
Pilot Induced Osilation I can see that

DJ: I have on purpose not tampered with the adjustments have you heard of them "drifting?"

M1: I'm big in one area "cirmfrentialy enhanced"
so My gear tends to be flappy. was out cutting up yesterday and still wiggles in a no wind situ
I have done the locked arm thing and understand
I played with body positions, how I was holding
on if I lean over the tank (laydown) and relax my grip to the point almost of no pressure it gets better

Ingemar:
I can let go it coasts staight at lower speeds

Ebear:
I have the factory shop manual, for the settings
could you do the straight edge trick with strings?

all:
As I explained to M1 it gets better if I lay down
and relax My grip,
The overall feel is not quick but stable as it was when new. my best description is "twitchy" like riding on the edge of a razor blade. If I disturb the bike it will wiggle several times before comming back to the low freq weave,
I will double check pressures and tire conditions

The factory manual explains how to replace parts
limited troubleshooting info

any how to for isolators and engine mounts

and again thanks I will explore the sag and settings info}
