But Newfie all my snow melted.... Can i come over to your house and play?? it is almost 50 here in michigan and it is frigging december.. did someone leave the termostat turned up.... I think it is time for everyone to just sit in a circle and sing Koombya... Newfie you start ok.. Come on guys, just deal w/ the fact that this is Blakes board and what he says goes... I have my own opinion about what should go and what shouldn't (see my first post in this disscussion) but i am not a custodian or the founder of this board... That is blake and the other custodians. I am fine w/ that cause this tiny little matter about Avatars is STUPID!! what the F#$K does this have to do w/ buells anyway? GET OVER YOUR OWN EGO! problem is i can't get over mine.. IT IS TOO DARN BIG!! hehehe just shake hands and be done w/ it. Newfie Pass the screech |

Dumb Question of the Week: Is the woman part of the Buell ad? Out'y - Yes, and it makes this argument all the more silly. With total understanding and respect for Blakes desires over the Pinky pic, I would like to state, without taking sides, that I personally did not find it offensive. It was cheesecake and far more tame than what we are all exposed to with the click of single button on our tv remotes. And not that this other extreme or example would be tolerated either, I would rather that any one see "that" normal/hetero photo (especially my children) on my coffee table, than the daily onlslaught of homosexual agenda we are having shoved down our throats. Pick your media, you cannot get through a single day now without a rights, lifestyle, or acceptance issue. Blake, I suggest that you simply develop and state a policy for our profile image. And to that end, I believe that it should be recognized that because it is a "profile" picture, it's purpose is one of helping us to get to know each other. The photo should be of ourself, our bike, or a combination of such. PS. I don't care if yer gay. You have my tolerance and understanding. I just don't share the need or want to foist it on you any more than you'd want me preaching to you day in and day out... |

for the record, there was a conversation with the guy with the avatar in question -- he was asked to change it, he said he would, and then delivered a single finger salute -- don't know about others, but if I acted that way, the ghost of my grandfather (who raised me) would rise up outa the ground and slap me silly guy wasn't banned because of his avatar, it was the salute (repeatedly delivered) that got him bounced I'll repeat my earlier attempt to get this motorcycle related - I'll challenged any XB street rider to a race for pink slips -- me on my Y2K MaDeuce, I get to pick the road (but I'm old and slow! -- aks Lake!) any takers? |

The ad reads: Left: A woman. This page: A single, huge 340mm front brake rotor and six piston caliper minimise unsprung weight and give the Buell S1 Lightning awesome stopping power. |

And I bet the places where that add showed up were places where it was not unexpected. I work for a US division of a UK owned corporation, and the stuff they get away with on the other side of the pond is staggering relative to what we would get blasted for here in the states. The cheeky ba$^!^@s. |

The detailed pictures of the profile, scaled down, don`t function well, as avatar. Reepicheep`s one made an exception, but he changed his profile pic apparently for that purpose: Now his profile pic isn`t very interesting anymore. Profile pics and avatars are different things with different functions. Why not 2 pics in the profile? One as profile pic, and a low resolution pic as avatar ? Then somebody can choose small pants as avatar, but the detailed, and complete, filling as profile pic. Hans |

I love good ads & magazine covers. I have most of the Buell ads framed & hanging up, Smiley face burnout ad, X1 ad, Squirrels, M2 with the jacket that has extra extra long sleeves, etc. But I would have to say my favorite one I have hanging up is this cover Love the paint scheme on the bike & of course having a lovely lady astride it doesnt hurt either. it hangs in my computer room which is a huge mess of printers, fax machines, toys of all types from motorcycles & cars to Star wars, Batman, Speed racer, etc. The walls are literally covered in posters, prints, ads, even a few T-shirts |

Lake, Midknyte...Thanks for the lesson in Buell advertising! Originally, I thought it was a spoof and there was no connection between the woman and the Buell. I guess it must have been the "Dog Days" for Buell, sales weren't so great and they had to appeal to our penis deficiencies to buy one. Sort of like a Corvette, which is now a great woman's car. LMAO |
