LOL...I should have referred to it as the Green Machine. It wasn't lost in colorization. It is supposed to be where the exhaust pipe passes through the frame behind the rear cylinder.

As an XB owner, you can be forgiven provided you invite us over when you finally BBQ that Rooster in your Profile. LMAO

There's a fair amount of space up where the oil tank is or was, and up under the seat as well, sort of, besides if you convert it all to a magneto you don't have to worry about a battery unless you want the lights to run when the engine is off, of course converting an X1 to a magneto is a bit more involved than converting a panhead to a magneto, but these are all things to be figured out in the process of the conversion once you have it all torn apart, so get to the teardown - winter is approaching fast and you must have it well into the milkcrate phase by Holloween as that's when the little gremlins will come knocking at your door and you will then be able to ask with fully sunken eyes and 5-days-unshavin' face if they perhaps in their bag of tricks which they directly offer up when they proclaim trick or treat if they would by any chance have a trick for locating or relocating a battery and oil bag in what was formerly a Buell X1.

I just came out of a department meeting and my mind is still glazed over and slightly asleep, sorry about the lack of commas and coherence in the above. But if it made any sense at all please post your interpretation in the appropriate section of BuellWorldDaily.

KAWI hater, green is the color of speed, the color of the last of the iline 4s in motogp, color of one of the few sport bikes that could be bought in superbike configuration(91-92 ZX7R, and 93-96 ZX7RR)
Green is pure Beauty
oh and the S3, its green

chuckle -- glad to see there's no passion around the color topic -- bad luck green is knowledge of the ancients which must be passed down to the younger curmudgeons on the board

always admired kawis -- just never bought one

and the S3, it IS green -- remind me what you rode to springfield again

;-}

"knowledge of the ancients"

I knew there would be an upside to being this old! I can remember the first Kawasakis to come to the US. And they weren't green...

Is anybody else here old enough to remember the "238 Scrambler?"

Tom...Pics'n'Bull, sounds like someone should change the title of the thread. LOL

Green is cool. Especially, British Racing Green on an old Triumph or MG; and, don't forget the white racing stripe. In the MC realm, it has earned a lot of respect too. Well, at least as it isn't OD Green.

Never quite understood the application of OD Green on a bike that civilians were to use in traffic. Seems a little hazardous to me when you consider all the efforts being made to increase our conspicuity. Then again, I do understand the cost benefit to Kawasaki as they included it in their ATV line as well.

Poor Roger, all he needs to do is change the color of his bike(s) and he will live happily ever after.

Like the Ancient says: It's not wise to mess with the luck of the Leprechaun, especially if you are't Irish.
