Already did Dave. How do I calculate 80% remaining tread on my tires. Is there a minimum depth number I can use?

Looks like I just added tires to my list for Santa.

I would say to start the day with pretty new tires. If you don't they will have that big flat spot and be hard to throw into the corners as well as new, nicely rounded tires.
As far as boots, you can go with any boot that is 8" tall and covers your ankle. They don't have to be race boots.
Helmet, yes you want the snell rated ones.
Gloves, just have to be gauntlet style that cover your wrists.

I'll bet there are people here that would loan you the gear you need.
Sean also rents leathers.

Outie

I got an extra pair of boots (size twelve), gloves (er, L or XL, I dunno), a complete set of leathers that will fit your as, ehem person (you're skinnier than me) . . . . snell lid, you can get em for a buck fifty easy (although no one has ever checked my helmet at a track day)

you're on your own for tires

heck, I'l even front you some Ibuprophen (hint, take it when you get to the track, and again at the lunch time break)

actually, if you're considering the October day, you can borrow my snell lid as well (size 7 1/4, hardly sweated in, 6 months old)

Rocktober is out. Still have plenty of miles left on the 207's but not enough for the track requirements.

You been sleeping in class again Dana? Truck took a dump last week coming home from the track. Fuel pump went south & of course its in the tank. Drop the tank & of course being from the rust belt the straps were trashed & those were $108, pump was $160, high pressure fuel line needed to be replaced..that cost $130, plus other parts & then throw in 4 hrs labor & a $50 tow & its up to $750. Sucked but oh well. Havent stuck any $$ into the truck except for tires in over 2 years.

Another what? Bike or truck? No thanks on both accounts.

Truck is fine now & the bike is in a holding pattern. Depending on the outcome "IF" the motor is to repaired it will be going to Hobans & nowhere else.
