Come on peoples...

The midwest is centrally located for all mainlanders (that's why we call it the midwest).

The KC Mob is a great bunch (we are modest too)and we would love to see ya all come to our neck of the woods! I have a pretty decent bike shop in my basement... and if needed by anyone passing through to the BadWeb Rally in Arkansas (hint... hint...) it would be available for any unforeseen problems. (can't do tires or weld there yet... but soon).

Anyway... Arkansas would be a good idea for sooooo many reasons.

I'm in for Colorado. The southwest corner(aka Colorado Plateau) has some of the most diverse types of terrain and some of the best roads to ever meet a motorcycle tire. Can you say "The Million Dollar Highway" and not grin? : )

I'm in for the socializing as much as the ride. Please no track stuff. Not afraid, just not into it. Would much rather see the diverse crowd, as we have become, show with whatever they're riding at the moment. Don't matter if it's a Buell or a KLR or a Gold Wing. Plenty of adventures to go around for everyones' riding preference. Party, socialize and swap lies at night.

Let's make it about BADWEBers, not Buells.

OK, Im back after starting this with another suggestion. How about picking a central location to meet for a day or two and then those who need to head home to the east and or west can do with their respective group.
To get to a central location would take most 2-3 days to get there, then spend a day or two there to ride and hang then head home the scenic way(3-4days)would come out to about 9 days (2 weekends and 5 work days - basically a weeks vacation for most.
The group from each coast could set up meeting points (with in reason) for others to join up with, as well as plan their return route when they all get together at the central point.
Riding and meeting people is what this is all about.
We could also set it up to meet coming in from the 4 corners - widening the approach route.
Just a few more ideas to kick around.

Gomo...Now that is do-able. Make the commute the ride and the destination the party!

Establish various points of origin, establish routes to the destination, ride in groups and pick up additional riders along the way, party for a few days and then head back on the same or different route.

Aint going to Kansas. I agree!!

Actually the area we are talking about is 3 1/2 hours from KC (6 for me). The KCMOB and St. Louis area guys met there lastyear. Great place to stay and reasonable! GREAT RIDING! Plenty of Bars and restaurants in the Eureka Springs Ark. area. Here is the area we are speaking of on your map.

map

Gomo, I like your idea. Kind of like what HD did for the 100th anniversary. Heather and I would be willing to house people coming from the north (chicago, wisconsin, michigan, etc . . .) to help break up thier ride and cut thier expenses. From my house I can change the route from 6 hrs to an allday ride through some of the best roads of MO. (Racerboy and V2Wins backyard) enroute to Ark.

Just to toss a location into the fray, Lake of the Ozarks wasn't a bad place. Then again, may be too high traffic with vacationers and residents now.

Anyone have any suggestions on sleepy little towns with cheap motels, a few rowdy bars and some great roads?

Outrider,
Lake of the Ozarks is an Awesome party town. There are some decent roads in the area. pretty high priced now. pretty commercial. But a great location none the less.

In reference to sleepy little towns question. That is what we are suggesting with Eureka Springs, Ark. Its about 3 hours south of the lake of the Ozarks. www.ironhorsestables.com. motel prices - $36 for two queen size beds. $15 a night camping huts and $10 a night campsites. hot showers for campers. reasonably priced restaurant on premises (steak and eggs breakfast for $4 & whole smoked chicken for $6). motorcycle shop on premises. Just a great setup for motorcyclists. I would compare it to Deals Gap motorcycle resort with a few more amenities and a LOT better price. Eureka springs has many bars and restaurants. neat little town.

Newfie, if we go out west, you can make the ride to my place and put the S1 on the trailer, hop in the truck, and go with me.

Darthane,
Why don't you and newfie head down this way enroute to Ark. Its 560 miles from Dearborn heights to Quincy, IL. Then its 364 miles (if you don't want to take the scenic route). From my place to Eureka Springs. Total distance is just over 900 miles. I'll guarantee it is better than having to drive across either Kansas, Nebraska, or South Dakota.

Keith

p.s. I might want to reconsider, don't know if I want a Lutheran in my house. sorry couldn't resist!

LOL...I suppose a detour can be made. I'll have to root up a trailer that'll house four bikes (at least). I'd much rather make a trip that long with at least one other person in the vehicle.

...you can make me sit on the stoop, I suppose. But then I just might have to make you ride in the trailer! If I hadn't told ya, you'd never have guessed I was Lutheran, anyways. :-P

Darthane,

My wife will want to go and she WILL NOT ride on a bike any more than an hour at a time. She can drive from here, (I have a trailer that will fit 4 bikes) while we hit some great roads between here and there. She'll want a vehicle when we get down there anyway to go shopping in the nearest large city.

Keith

p.s. your right, would have never guessed!

If I'm stateside I'm gonna have to make every effort to make this, if and when ya'll decide where it's gonna be.

Colorado, Arkansas, anywhere but the friggin desert and where there are anything but straight roads.

Start with regions (se, ne, mw, etc) and someone collects emails. Count them up and there you go. It also helps if someone in those areas is willing to arrange it all.

How about colorado around the time of MotoGP, i am going to Cali but it would be nice to meet more Badwebers on the way, maybe around the weekend of July 3rd or so????
Just ideas, but i have to see Valintino Rossi once before he quits, and i would like to see the return of Nicky Haden to the US
Daytona sounds like a great plan, but for me MotoGP, for the first time in a decade in the US, cant be touched
There is also, just as a note, no reason there cant be more than one rally, as has been shown in the past, lots of people want to come to these events, but a lot of the time real life gets in the way
just something to consider
And Bubba, if your ridding out, consider a stop in IL, i may ride out with you if you do
