What a great weekend for me!
Penny and her Mom Bobbie came up on Friday.
I had to work on Sat but they came out to the shop and hung out most of the afternoon(after they had their Starbucks). Penny found a HD jacket she couldn't live without so I got it for her.
Sat. after work we went for a little ride up to Depere and stopped at the bar and grill we went to on the last BRAG ride. I couldn't believe I found it! We sat out on the deck and had a couple iced teas and then took 41 back to Appleton. They wanted to go back to the Chili's that we went to after the open house with Ralph,Mike and Chuck for dinner.
We all slept in til about 7 on Sunday and then, yes you guessed it, back to Starbuck's for coffee about 10:30. I called my Dad to wish him happy Father's Day while they were getting their sludge in a cup.
After they had their morning caffeine fix we headed up towards Green Bay. Went up thru the Onieda reservation and got to Green Bay at about 1:00. I will tell all of you this, if you like BBQ as much as I do, go to Green Bay to the Smokey Bone! I had a full rack of baby backs and they rocked! I was so full I could barely move when we left.
Pale Rider was there(he runs the place) and sat and talked with us for awhile, good to see you Mark.
After we ate we headed back south towards Appleton, only got a little lost but found our way. I pulled into the garage at the apartment and Penny says, I want another Starbuck's(this girl is a Starbuck's junkie!) so off we went for another shot of caffeine.
Back to Kaukauna after the coffee run, chilled out for a while and then I made taco salads for dinner.

Got up this morning and got them all ready to go. We rode to Oshkosh and stopped, yes, you know where, Starbuck's! I then escorted them to Hwy 26 and sent them on their way back to Iowa. Hope they don't run into any rain this trip.
I had to head back and get to work.
This week won't be so bad, I'm taking next Sat off so I'll be headed back to Iowa Friday night. Penny has a class reunion next Sat and believe it or not, actually wants to take me!

I rode the demo V Rod this weekend and for those of you that have not ridden one you gotta check them out. I'm thinking that will be my next additional Harley! Thing needs some pipes but other than that it was a fun bike to ride.

Ride to the edge!

LOL - Dave - time to buy the coffee grinder and get the Sumatra coffee from Costco - save yourself 5 to 10 bucks every time you make a pot - lol - then you only have to buy maintenence coffee on the road. This advice is from a serious caffine junkie - lol

Penny has her own cappacino(sp?) machine at home. I think I need to get one for the apartment. About 4 more visits and it would pay for itself.

Daves,

How about asking the local wrench what it would take to put the VRod motor in the XB?? (not for a SOW, just for his thoughts) I am sure that with some machine work for the mounts and such it is at least feasible.... - then put the XB12 motor in the VRod...Hmmm - makes you think that is how it should have been since day 1 - a 100HP evolution in the Harley street-rod and a DOHC 8 valve V2 in the Buell. Maybe if I pinch real hard I'll wake up to this natural reality.??

Glad you had a great weekend! It was good to meet you & bs. After I left you I went to Stevens Point. There's a pretty good place to eat there as well. It's in the mall of all places. Had some ribs, spuds, and green beans. Pretty much did me in for the rest of the nite.
later,

Just got a call from Penny. It rained on them from just outside of Oshkosh all the way to Dubuque.
Those two just can't catch a break when it comes to the weather when they ride up here.
600 mile round trip, 400 of it in the rain.
