From the posts I've been reading on this board, I see that I need to install the upgraded chain tensioner on my S1. The problem is, there are no Buell shops anywhere near here.

Could I get the same parts at a Harley shop, or is there an online Buell store that I could order from and have the stuff shipped?

Thanks,
Eric

where abouts in RI is greer? there's a buell dealer in pawtucket, but yes it's a harley part, i can't seem to find my receipt from last year when i did it but it's the same part # harley or buell. peruse the knowledge vault and you'll find the part# there. welcome to badweb by the way. everyone is cool around here but sometimes peeps won't talk to you if you ask a question that's easily found in the knowledge vault. btw, buy the upgraded metal sandwich gasket when you do the job, it's a waaaayyy better gasket and actually makes the install easier cause it's not so floopy as the cheesy paper gasket!

Appreciate the advice. I had looked on the knowledge board and found instructions and part numbers and such, but I just wasn't sure if the Sportster got the same upgrade as the Buell.

I'll have to go modify my address info, btw. Greer is not in RI, it's in western SC.

Thanks,
Eric

All in the Knowledge Vault including the part numbers needed to do the upgrade,

I did mine a week or so ago.

I don't think you need the part number. Just go to your dealership and ask for one by name.

Or, call Modesto, Deanna will ship you one in a box with candy and keychains. Modesto is so cool.
