On the bright side, my coffee table gets 60 mpg in the city and can travel 90 mph.

"Trade your Blast in for full MSRP towards a new blast replacement" should be a good enough compensation for cubing our thumpers.

The Blast is a terrific bike, the add is just rude. Its like putting down family in front of family - it just isn't done in good form. They should shoot the add designer.

I don't own a blast...yet.

I can see why the blastards are upset. I'm sure buell has something cool in the works. So what. Does that require insulting those who have bought and loved the earlier bike. Does that require insulting those who defended the 'cute' little bike all those years.

Tomorrow Buell will announce it's new whiz-bang bike. New advertisements will go out. Won't matter, all the buell-haters will remember is the cubed cute bike.

I'm not upset, just suprised. If racing and sportbikes are truly the only things the new Buell cares about then how long before the XB series gets scrapped? Guess it depends on how you define sportbike. To me sportbike does not equal streetbike. I ride street bikes. I buy streetbikes. In my mind the XB's are streetbikes first.

Somewhat OT, how long do you think before the rotax is the only buell offered?

How about this thought - a coffee table is the most reliable thing that HD/Buell produce! Yeah - great advertising guys - lol - want another bullet so you can shoot the other foot off? Stupid asses - what where they thinking?

I'm about to pick up a Blast.... but if I have to turn it into a coffee table.. That would suck.
I think it was a pretty stupid add.... I'm sure someone will yank that dogs chain.

One thing I was thinking about doing is getting a fairing off of a FLH and putting it on the Blast so the die hard Harley riders would wave at me.... That would make me giggle like a little school girl! HEHEHEHE

A couple of thoughts:

1) Assume the blast was a great bike built by Buell to a set of criteria handed to it by Harley Davidson.

2) After 10 years, Buell was given a green light to build their own entry level bike to their own criteria.

3) That bike will be announced tomorrow...

As for destroying perfectly good bikes, I'm sure they didn't.

Even *before* Court left the factory, there are no doubt several destroyed every year in normal riding. ; )

Not to mention dealer buybacks, test mules, and destructive test vehicles. Bikes that were going to be crushed anyway.

I like the Blast. It was the bike that got my wife hooked on riding. My daughter rode one to Wisconsin for the 25th. It's extremely reliable, handles well and gives great gas mileage.
I'm trying to keep an open mind, but I'm wondering if the same group of geniuses who decided to market the TT as a great graffiti bike are behind this ad.

Obvious bad taste in advertising - just poor taste.

You guys crack me up. Since I've been around here all I've heard is "update the Blast". Pretty obvious that a big change is coming to replace it's spot in the line up, and now you're like a bunch of teenage girls when Elvis died.

It's worth repeating that Buell has not and will not be coming to your house to crush your Blast, so chill out and take a nap or a 'lude.

I just hope the Blast replacement (The Buell Boom? The Buell Aftershock?) doesn't have those hideous pods like the 1125R!

I'm wondering if the same group of geniuses who decided to market the TT as a great graffiti bike are behind this ad.

Let's hope not.

That group would have created a new bike and highlighted the "bold new graphics" rather than the fact that it was a different bike with fantastic new features.
