Actually, I think they are kind of cute.

No uglier than my Ulysses. When it was orange, my wife called it "Baby Huey".

Ferris, you have to get out more. The Cube is one of the hottest vehicle on the planet.

They are everywhere in Japan, and there is a waiting list here.

Vehicles like the Cube. Toyota Bb (scion xb here), Kia Soul, etc... are the future of vehicles.
They are cheap, cheerful, and very practical.

What's really weird about it is the asymmetrical rear window arrangement:

Perfect for drive-bys. No pillars to deflect the bullets.

There's one parked in the lot where I work, it's ugly alright but I still don't think it can dethrone the Aztek.

I have never understood the whole "It's a gay car" thing.
Especially when it come to Jeeps.

My business partner, and another friend (both gay) had a discussion about this recently. Neither of them would be caught dead owning a jeep. Maybe a Merc G wagon...

In my experience a lot of gay men have multiple vehicles, an everyday vehicle and something unique.

Example my friend has a Smart Car as his grocery getter, yet his garage has as follows: 911 turbo, 1966 Mustang Convertible, a twin turbo audi tt roadster, a classic mint 1989 MR2, and they soon will be joined by a lamborghini gallardo.

My other gay friends/aquintences all have higher end vehicles. Even if it is not a lux brand, the vehicle is something unique say like a VW R32, or BMW 335i.

Not kidding at all. A few years ago I had an associate of mine who was a VJ for MTV Asia.
I asked her to get me the official japanese brochure for the Japanese spec cube. Very cool.

The japanese version has an option for a turbo + electric 4wd. The front wheels are driven via the engine, but the rear wheels are powered from an electric motor. It provides traction, without the driveline loss.

It must be a generational thing like those goofy tennis shoes that look like something an alien would wear. No wonder GM and Chrysler couldnt compete if this is what passes as stylish.

Wrong...

It's Subaru's...

I asked one of my lesbian friends why this is. Her statement was lesbians are very practical with their money. And you can't get more practical than a Subaru...

When I see them I think of hamsters under the hood.... since that is what is "driving" them in ad on TV.....

Who is in charge of their advertising anyway? lol!

Your thinking of the Kia Soul. In the "cool" department it is definitely a step below.

I could drive a honda element, smart car, vibe, focus, geo tracker...but not that. I dont think it says gay but definitely metro or early 20's club scene girly.

When Im not on the Buell I drive an 06 Xterra. Love the simplicity and quality. Nissan makes nice stuff.

If you want ugly look no further than a Fiat Multipla.

Gay cars? Interesting concept.
Do you have to get in backwards?

In Europe we have what are known as "hairdresser's cars" generally cabriolet's based on a hatchback. Golf, Megane, Escort, etc.

So do tell what constitutes a gay bike?

There is a gay element to some cars, but mostly it's just present if a guy buys a predominantly 'chick' styled car. A little hatchback, pink etc. Quite a few of my gay friends don't even own cars, being the hippy one day, metro gay the next kinda guys. My boss used to drive a pooncy little Getz. Some of the little smart cars look pretty neat (the sporty ones) but that cube is Uuug-leee. I hate anything that resembles a people-mover. hehe.

Monkey,

Some peoples own homophobia and lack of phallus size sometimes lead to larger 'manlier' vehicles to compensate for their own latent homo erotic tendencies or lack of girth ; )

BTW I think the Cube is pretty cool but I like my VW and think I will be sticking with that brand for a while, but man that thing looks like it will hold a ton of hockey gear...
