I was leaving the gate at work to get on my bike in the rain:

Him,"You have to ride in the rain".
Me,"No, I get to ride in the rain".

Guy getting on Harley as I get on Buell:

Him,"Dry all day and it has to start when I'm getting off work".
Me,"I like it. Makes power sliding easier".

The only thing I don't like riding in the rain is scrapping the dirt and mud from the back of my jacket left from the giant rooster tail my bike throws.

As long as it's not freezing balls cold, and not for all friggin' day, and I'm dressed for the occasion, I kind of like it. Something different, a little more of a challenge and people give you dirty looks.

I really like driving in snowstorms, too.

The worst part of riding in the rain is the air conditioning when you have to go in doors.

That and your leathers doubling in weight.

LOL

I had a kid in a lowered riced out truck pull up next to me at a light in the middle of a t-storm.

He says all snarky and giggley, "That sucks!"

I respond, "Yeah I would be pissed too if I owned that truck!"

What do they call that face you make to thin out the lips to reduce the pain in the rain while using an open face helmet?

People always ask me "What do you do when it rains?"

To which I reply: "I get wet" : )

After finding out that the first half of my ride from OKC to Milwaukee was in the rain, one of the guys I work with asked,

"How do you handle riding in the rain for that long at a time?"

my response..

"look for these small bottles of stuff at any auto parts store.. it's called HTFU."

The wife and I went for a ride on the 12R today, knowing it would rain at some point.

We were in and out of our rain suits 3 times today! Stayed as dry as could be expected in the nice hot and humid Flori-duh air.

"I got wet in the shower this morning, too..."

Of course, you get funny looks from the folks who are....let's say, "hygiene-challenged". LOL.

My wife and I got caught in a torrential downpour. I could hear her laughing in her helmet behind me.

I love that woman.

Thanks! Im using that one!

I ride in the rain all the time. I love to give my fair weather rider friend I work with a ton o crap when I ride in in the sun, it rains all day and just before I leave the sun comes out. It happens a lot more than you might think.

i tend not to go out if it is raining, but getting caught in the rain doesn't bother me. in the uk its best to take waterproof gear if you are going to be out for more than an hour

when i used to windsurf and surf i always got me laughing when people said "but its raining"

I don't mind riding in the rain, except when I'm in a hurry. Until I was around 25 motorcycles were usually my only form of transport unless I borrowed a car, but I've got soft since then and get to choose between 2 wheels and 4 now.

"Twist and Grin!"
Still have trouble with letting it spin and slide in the wet... Too much built-in self-preservation factor, must practice more : )

No, the worst thing about rain are all the douche canoes in their cages that like to pretend water actually increases traction and reduces braking distance, thus demanding they drive faster.

I enjoy the cool clean smells in summer, and I open the shield and let the rain fall into my mouth when stopped,

the Quote I will share, was made by a Late badwebber, "Team" on his last ride.
the story is shortly after he left it started to rain, rather than being bummed out he said
"Well GOD made the rain too"
and enjoyed his ride any way.

so I say this in rememberence...

Better to ride in the rain that not to ride.

Gal at work ask about riding in the rain. "Won't you fall over?"

I said "Why?"

She says "Because you only have two wheels"

I said "You only have two feet. Do you fall over in the rain?"
