are these bikes like crack cocaine?

10 years ago, I remember going out into the garage after a day of riding and just sitting there staring at my M2. I just got back from the garage after a 20 minute session of doing the same thing, not only to it, but to my now 1 year old XB12X....After a decade you'd think I would have outgrown this. I've never had another car/truck/bike that has had this power. I now have a chair in the garage for just these occasions. If this condition continues or worsens, I may need to invest in a couch for the garage.

It's definitely a sickness that has flown under the World Health Organization's radar.

I do the same thing I have an 02 X1 Whitelightning and I stare at it for a while usually after a ride.

I do the same thing. I even do it to friend's Buells. Pete is always asking what I'm looking at, thinks maybe I noticed something wrong. Nope - I just think the steel tube frames are rolling porn.

LOL! I park it a certain way in the garage because I have a favorite view. I too have a chair for just this. My wife thinks I'm crazy. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this "ailment".

I started for me, by spending a half hour on the floor of the dealership looking over the new '05 City-X that I was about to buy. Time does not heal this problem. I hide the bike in the shed so I don't think about it all damn day, but then there are pictures of it on the wall in my office and of course the screen savers and backgrounds.

It is like it won't leave me alone!

I've been 'effed in the head' over my bike for quite some time now. I have the "chair" and a small table just for lounging with my bike.

If there's a cure don't let me know.
I don't think I want to be cured : )

Wow! Maybe I should have started this post with "Hello, my name is John and I have a problem."

BAA - Buell Addicts Anonymous.

Nice tuber ziptab. There is something distinctly artistic about the tube frame. Riding the XB certainly is technically better, but the M2 still has a magic about it that can't be quantified. One of many reasons it still holds a reserved place in my garage.

I admit I have a problem.

I have had to result to pictures and badweb to hold me over but I still feel withdrawals from the real thing.

Be warned, this isn't a condition, it's a disease, and it's contagious... It's spreading through our household...

We were only just talking about this kind of affliction over lunch! That while other bikes/cars can be popular, Buell stands in a sub-category all on it's own.
Every owner treats the Buell name and their bike with respect...almost reverance, and certainly passion and loyalty.
I can't get enough of the X1. It gets the most 'pats' and 'baths' out of all the vehicles. Part of the family. It features in all of our important 'family portaits' and has been immortalised in pencil and sketch paper. Hopefully one day soon, it will have a little sibling of it's own kind to keep it company ; )

Hi, my name is Dan and I'm a Buellaholic.

I don't want to seem judgmental, BUT, Redefine420 sounds like he has it REAL bad.

Yeah. . . right.

I've been doing this for well over 20 years and it only gets worse.

If you'd been reading my stories in 1995, you'd have heard me talk about setting the milk crate next to the Buell and just staring at it.

Get used to it.

: )

Firebolt; does she work for Gardner-Denver?
I don't have Court's level of experience, but after being a Buell owner for 11 years, and having had seven Buells go through the family (3 in the garage right now), I still stop and stare at my bike.
It's not an addiction, though. I could give up riding Buells anytime I want to. I just don't want to. Yeah; that's it.

Move the bike into the house, that way you will be able to eat, sleep, and watch TV while you are looking at your bike. Then nobody can say that you are spending too much time in the garage. The thing that amazed me is I took the Uly shopping last night and put two 6 packs of premium beer, two bottles of wine, a hole 12 pack of coke in the topcase(without breaking it apart) and a 6 pack of water. It was a little heavy with the girlfriend on the back but I still took the long way home, and the girlfriend said she perferred the long way.

One of the criteria I was looking for in a house was a "den" with outside access to move Buttercup ( my M2 ) into for display purposes in winter.

Didn't happen, but the planned garage is meant to have a screened lounging area for viewing, working on & drinking beer/pop while BS'ing with Buttercup on ready to roll display.

Yeah, I frequently just look at Erik's sculpture.

When I lost my wheel bearings I sat down and started to sketch blue. I was down in the ditch looking up at blue on the side of the highway.
