This is something that is so important to me, I had to bring it here. We need all the help we can get. Finding a cure for breast cancer is one of the more important issues in my life. I am sure that we have all been touched by this disease through our loved ones or aquaintances or even ourselves. My best friend is walking in the 3 day walk for a cure in Atlanta in October. She needs to raise $2300. before then and I am hoping much more. I know that times are trying for all of us but I would appreciate it if you could donate what you can. I don't typically put my hand out to my friends and aquaintances for any reason but this cause is so important. I would like to do more, but it is all I can do. It's all any of us can do, really. My Mother was stricken with stage 4 breast cancer and died at the age of 66. My Grandmother had it. My Aunt (my Mothers sister) and her daughter had it. I have 2 daughters of my own and cannot even imagine how I would handle it if one of them should get it. So all I can do is donate to the cause and ask everyone else to help as well. This is the link to her participant site for the walk. Donations can be made directly to the site. Or if you can donate any other way, please do. http://www.the3day.org/site/TR/Walk/AtlantaEvent?p x=3048904&pg=personal&fr_id=1291 Do whatever you can... Thanks in advance, Pam besides...what would life be without BOOBS?! |

One of my best friends, and first girlfriend ever, just went through the entire Breast Cancer ordeal. Fortunately there are about a dozen of us who have stayed close since we were about 5 years old. I've called her twice a week since it started, have "talked her through" most of her chemo treatments by calling her on the table (she was allowed to talk on the phone) and telling her jokes. Some of the gals have gone to Texas to attend treatments with her and we've learned that humor and support can do a lot but science needs to do the rest. This is ONE of the forms of cancer we can truly expect to be cured in our lifetime, we NEED to do this. When the Susan G. Komen folks held the very first Pony Express Ride I was thrilled, on behalf of Buell, to ride both the opening and closing legs of the trip. The story about the BMW sponsored closing ride, from Southfork Ranch to Dallas' West End, with 5,000 bikes being led by a Buell remain one of the funnest Buell stories ever. Remind me to tell you sometime. . . . I also continue to tease Mary that if she'd simply let me perform the "exams" when I offered 40 years ago all this could have been avoided. I sure hope some of the folks here find it in their hearts to pitch in . . . every $5, $10 or $25 helps. It there was ever an ass that deserved kicking . . . it's breast cancer. Court |

Men can get breast cancer too. I have a friend who had to have surgery for breast cancer. He has recovered and is doing fine. I never knew this to be possible. |

Can we get some support for the hooters? Come on guys and gals, this is a important cause. Everyone deserves a lifetime. I wear pink and donate for my Mother and the futures of all women(and men). I wish there was a pink ribbon emoticon... http://www.the3day.org/site/TR/Walk/AtlantaEvent?p x=3048904&pg=personal&fr_id=1291 (Message edited by pammy on May 27, 2009) |

Done. I have had several good friends battle this disease in just the last few years. Some have beaten it, others have not. The cure can't come soon enough. |

Pammy, try to post this again when it gets closer to the cut off date. I'm sure many of us would be willing to donate again. |

You guys are the best! I read the responses here to my friend and it made her cry. She has been trying to raise money on her own and it has been hard, but she keeps on going. She and her husband are avid bikers as well. I suggested that she contact riding groups in her area and thats when the Badass, Badweather Bikers popped into my mind. I have never been aquainted with any more selfless, kindhearted people in my life...EVER. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, make that with our whole hearts. You folks are all incredible! Karma will be very, very gooood to you! If someone could change the font and the color of the title of this thread, I would be eternally grateful. I would like to keep this in the loop as long as possible. I will be working on it until October...well for the rest of my life really...or until they find a cure...There are many boobs in my family alone that are so so precious to me. |

Doughnut: Shoot me your address . . . You're in for Buell door prize. Thanks and I'm really hoping folks will pick up on this challenge. I'd love to see Badweb launch this gal well on the way to her goal. It is so cool to see the folks here DOING! Court |

>>>Anything you can give will be appreciated! And the NEXT FIVE who ante up $50 or more get a genuine (autographed in chrome paint pen) 25TH BUELL ANNIVERSARY poster. I think we need a Badweb "I'm Ga-ga for Tah-tah's" t-shirt. Let's get this chick her $$$ and give her a hand. |

Court...I am indebted to you for your help. I think a T-shirt is a great idea. Maybe, with all the donors names kind of like the Bonneville helmet years back. All you guys...my most sincere gratitude! |
