Perhaps an I.Q. test?

So that only the rich and smart can vote.

And as has been demonstrated so often in this country.
If you're rich, you can pay someone to take the test for you.

Court, et al;

Unfortunately for us all the Obama has figured out the real giant loophole in the constitution. It is easily by-passed by signing away any granted rights by just signing an international treaty. All treaties trump constitutional rights. Watch him and/or Rahm work this treaty magic in the coming months.

If there was one thing in the constitution I would change, I would make all treaties conform to the US constitution. Right now it is far easier to change our constitution with a foreign treaty than by any other means.

I see you haven't taken a test lately.

I took one the 19th of last month. I arrived, emptied everything (EVERYTHING) from my pockets, shoes off, everything in a locked, fingerprinted, 2 forms of ID and sat at a station being filmed throughout the entire test.

After the test, comes the grading of the test.
Then, the recording of that grade.

You don't think that it could happen??

I know that it had to have happened. One way or another.

"World peace is surely on
the horizon, once us old fu<kers die.

Song title: Eugene
Lyrics by Greg Brown

http://www.gregbrown.org/gblyricsevening.html#euge ne"

Jb2/Jim,
When I was about 19 I spent about 16 hours in the basement of a house in Mason City, Iowa with Greg Brown and a few friends.
They sang and played almost non-stop and never repeated a song. It's been almost 40 years but I still have fond memories of that marathon jam session. I haven't seen or heard from Greg in the almost forty years since. You may have noticed he is missing the end of his left thumb. I don't know how that happened but it happened more than forty years ago.
Thanks to my friends Greg Brown, Marcia S. and Paul B. that is a day I will never forget.

And thanks to you Jim for reminding me of that day.

"Even if the "good old days" exist only in someone's memory it means they still have life."

42 the Universal Answer to life, the universe and well everything...
But more importantly, it will be the age I am when I opt out of this place and renounce my residency, if not my citizenship.

that hissing sound you hear is the life raft sinking.

Rome Burned, The Kremlin Fell, D.C. is not so sacred.

Gregtonn,

Court's statement about being old and in the way took me back to that song. I've never seen Greg Brown live but I do own about everything he's ever done. He's definitely someone who isn't afraid to touch on subjects others won't. The song Eugene is from his CD The Evening Call. It's spent many a rotation in my player. Good stuff. You are a lucky man to have been privy to the jam session.

I'm not leaving and letting them win.

I'm staying, fighting, and taking as many of them with me as I can.

FB, thanks for selflessly sitting down in front of the tanks or whatever. I'll ride an extra 100 kilometers on a diesel KLR burning 2 liters of biodiesel in your memory.

Note: This will be the national mascot of the United States of Awesome. The anthem will be Slayer's "Inna Gadda Davida."

Too old.

The effort needed isn't resistance to foreign enemies.

Heresy.

Iron Butterfly wrote that song, and they did it over a decade before Slayer even existed.

I know, I have the albums....But by the time that damn drum solo on the original is over, we would have to start yet another country out of boredom.

This just in from the 9th Circuit Court (probably the most LIBERAL Federal court too, I might add)

Argued and Submitted January 15, 2009
San Francisco, California
Filed April 20, 2009
Before: Arthur L. Alarcón, Diarmuid F. O’Scannlain, and Ronald M. Gould, Circuit Judges.
Opinion by Judge O’Scannlain; Concurrence by Judge Gould

quote:

Opinion by Judge O’Scannlain
We recently saw in the case of the terrorist attack on Mumbai that terrorists may enter a country covertly by ocean routes, landing in small craft and then assembling to wreak havoc. That we have a lawfully armed populace adds a measure of security for all of us and makes it less likely that a band of terrorists could make headway in an attack on any community before more professional forces arrived.

Second, the right to bear arms is a protection against the possibility that even our own government could degenerate into tyranny, and though this may seem unlikely, this possibility should be guarded against with individual diligence.

Third, while the Second Amendment thus stands as a protection against both external threat and internal tyranny, the recognition of the individual’s right in the Second Amendment, and its incorporation by the Due Process Clause against the states, is not inconsistent with the reasonable regulation of weaponry. All weapons are not “arms” within the meaning of the Second Amendment, so, for example, no individual could sensibly argue that the Second Amendment gives them a right to have nuclear weapons or chemical weapons in their home for self-defense. Also, important governmental interests will justify reasonable regulation of rifles and handguns, and the problem for our courts will be to define, in the context of particular regulation by the states and municipalities, what is reasonable and permissible and what is unreasonable and offensive to the Second Amendment.

This JUST was ruled the day-before-yesterday.

This is GROUNDBREAKING stuff for all people interested in their SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS!!!

Full document available at the 9th Circuit Court's own website:

READ IT PEOPLE - we are talking a FEDERAL ruling ON AN APPEAL - and READ how the FEDERAL COURT defined your/my/our 2nd Amendment rights AS INDIVIDUALS.

This isn't at all meant to be a barb at FB in the way that BG meant it, but it has always amazed me that for all people's talk, less than one in ten ever feel patriotic enough to serve in uniform.

What do you expect really, when only around four in ten people vote in midterm elections?

I will now take my turn, through the night, on the banks of the Monongahela river with my weapon in hand.

Anyone else going to volunteer to help.

I can't do it by myself every night.

You mean I cant have a bazooka under the Second amendment?.... Really?

next you should collect my cell phone, garage door opener, mason jars, vaseline, gasoline and cotton balls, alka selzter, MRE heat packets, surgical tubing, cuz really my idea of arms is certainly different from theirs.
The long rifle keeps neighbors civil, the closer you get, the less civil I will be.

Looks like a Dont Tread on Me Tattoo is in order. Its going to be a long year and a half.

The only problem I'm having is "how do I know the invaders from other GOOD guys?"

Maybe a secret "password"
But, no, that wouldn't work. - They may be reading this as I type.

What to do?
