"The next 175 years are PLANNED. Sure, some things will change but there is a PLAN in place and it's solid."

At what point in the plan do we get flying bikes?

When they put Revolution motors in Buells.

Buell gone in a year? I think it's probably a big load of s**t just like the rest of you.

A rock solid 200 year plan though?

That's funny stuff.

175 to go?

I would want Nostradamus on my board of directors!

Erik's a smart dude I wouldn't put it past him. Whats wrong with Harley? Are they not doing well? Maybe Erik can help revitalize them. Or maybe Harley guys can buy Buells : ) kidding kidding. But that would be sweet.

"...I have heard from two different people however that Buell will be out of business by this time next year..."

If Buell shuts down before I get my XT, I'm gonna kick some bean counter's ass down into the ground so deep he won't even be able to think about daylight. I PROMISE there will hell to pay.

I poke fun, but I don't doubt for a minute that Erik really did map out a 200yr plan.
It's probably very "loose" to allow for change, the first 50 years you could be specific; 20-25yrs develop and release water cooled superbike, 25-30yrs develop Racing Program and Expand watercooled models, develop and release dirt bike, 30-40yrs develop dirtbike racing program, ect

the 200yr plan might be more like 50-100yrs become independent company, 100-150 buy other companys and expand market, 150-200yrs try to take over the world...

At the 200th Homecoming they will announce that it is now illegal to own any Buell products, and the company will go bankrupt, leaving Erik Buell the 7th with only enough money to open a hot dog stand. The said stand will be marketed by a Court Canfield the 8th.

>>I agree, but Buell sales dollars are barely one third of HD's sales in accessories alone.

My monthly "miscellaneous and transit" allowance is only about 3% of my pay . . I have never refused the check.

>>>It's probably very "loose" to allow for change

Erik would use the term "flexible" and decry the use of "loose". Fact is, that without out a plan you can redouble your efforts, speed up , work harder, escalate commitment and hire a gaggle of consultants and you've still no clue where you are going.

In my company we ALWAYS had a 1, 3 and 5 year plan. I referred to the 5 year as the "shotgun" plan. No one knew where we were heading exactly, but EVERYONE from my crane operators, electricians, foreman, accountants, bonding agent and insurance person knew which way we were headed and what their roles and responsibilities were.

Can you imagine working for me?

: )

Honda et al will say it is a bad idea to remove the wheels from a motorcycle, even though it eliminates rolling resistance, tire wear, and the need for a traditional suspension. They'll eventually adopt it after Buell gets the bugs worked out.

See underslung mufflers.

Absolutely! Would do it in a heartbeat!

I had often imagined what it would be like to work for Rumsfeld as well. He is hard, but I think it would be very satisfying.

Do well, and the boss is happy.

I have worked for FAR lesser people.

I haven't forgotten to get your prospectus to you. I've been slammed. I'll try to get it out tomorrow.

I have heard there have been rumblings for years, by some dealers, to retire the Buell name in favor of slapping a HD on the air box cover. Have these forces been silenced or are they increasing?

We really shouldn't kick Ft_bstrd when he's down. He's in his 2nd or 3rd week of Buell withdrawal.

Ft_bstrd- any cure in sight?

He needs to go to Kooky Canuck's to try for the 1 hr, 8# burger contest.
