When I did the factory tour we were told the story behind this. I believe the tariffs are insanely high there unless the bikes are assembled there. So East Troy assembles them to the magical number, lets say 80%, ships them down there and they do the final 20%. Not exact numbers as I do not recall them but it allows them to sell bikes that are already a little pricey for not an amazingly high amount. Imagine paying 50-60% more for your bike because it wasn't manufactured in Brazil. |

Actually, it needs to be 100% assembled in Brazil to avoid the 100% tariff. |

Ouch, that sucks. It would make a fun weekend project. A "Buell in a Box". Something like a "Easy Buell Oven." |

Nair with a spatula. (Why traumatize the clam, when its better to phleeze it?) I prefer moist topiaries. Don't damage the Amazon rain forest if ya don't have to. Cultivate a nice landscape, trim back when necessary. Didn't Brazil get filmed by Monty Python? huhhhuhuhuhhhh I said Brazilian. and moist. |

Not Python - but Gilliam - the pic refers to a scene from it. |

My bad- forgot exactly who filmed it, amongst the group- love Gilliam's work. Also check out Baron Von Munchausen. One of my favorite pics. |

Can I get a new buell in a box? Would give me a chance to perform all the modifications I need without a teardown, as well as instill an even bigger sense of pride in my American made work of pure beauty...... I personally would buy a kit, warranty on motor starting up is all i need |

>>>Can I get a new buell in a box? Not in the USA. You CAN do what I did . . . in 1987 I bought 3 883 Sportsters the same day and tore them down. One became a 883 Twin Sport racer, another a flat tracker and the 3rd my highly modified daily rider. I have pics of Erik riding it in 1990. In 1996 I bought an S-1, took it out of the crate and did >$15,000 mods before it got started. Colder than heck when we finished it but we managed to get a couple miles on it, I loaded it on a trailer and headed to Daytona. I stopped at Earl Small's to visit with Buell owners and we did a little test ride with it. It was the FIRST Buell to ever circle Daytona when Erik used it to lead the parade lap. |
