when she just graduated from college for forestry and conservation.
well if your like me you have to mess with her a bit first!!!
its a pretty big present. must be good...
ooohhhh a brand new stihl chainsaw case, must be a brand new stihl chainsaw in it.
or NOT!!! (some really old homelite chainsaw lol).
you should have seen her fighting to keep the same smile she had when she first saw the case in the box. you could tell she wasnt expecting an old saw in there!
wait! there's another box...
this is more like it!!!
brand new MS260PRO Stihl chainsaw. just what every woman needs! lol
if you cant tell im pretty proud of her. (even though i just got the pics off the camera finally) it is a hard job being a full time student, full time mother plus having to work as many hours as you can manage, AND having to try and keep me out of trouble... i think shes been doing a good job!
tell her I said congrats. Andrea my wife is in the same shoes. Pretty much been in school 6 years of the 15 married to her. She has 1 1/2 years left and she has her Masters in Nursing. She wants to teach it. But I know what ya mean. She works full time, school full time, two teenagers and we all can make it hard sometimes. Can't wait till its over for her. So now that she's done with school whats her plan?? Or is she going to enter another chapter of the school life.
I was going to say "Don't get her a vaccuum, don't get her an iron, and definitely, don't get her a chainsaw!" Really, and then I read your post. Classic!
ya i think i did pretty good(present, and gf!) going on a little over 4 years and she still keeps me around!
her real plan is to go into business for herself. doing private consulting and such for timberland and prairie. she has gotten to know alot of people through her years in that field at school and i know plenty of people that are in similar areas of work. the big thing getting started is getting your name out there. there is always a good side to me knowing way to many people lol.
but right now she is basically running the bar she has been working at for the last 3+ years because the owner was diagnosed with cancer and has been battling that. so the majority of the business has been left in Jenn's hands. shes good at that to but its not what she wants to do full time forever.
she is a little worried about trying to get into the type of work she wants right now because of the economy. many people arent in the position at the moment to have the disposable income to spend conserving there land even if they want to.
plus that saw is only the tip of the iceburg as far as equipment goes. there is alot more stuff needed to get real deep into this type of business. i dont have the school book knowledge like she does so she teaches me alot when it comes to that. but i have spent alot of my formative years out in the woods so i can atleast comprehend most of what she tries to tell me!
plus i have spent alot of years operating a huge assortment of equipment and can run damn near anything... which comes in handy(im hoping for some really cool machinery down the road!!!)
I have to disable the chainsaws here or my wife would leave no tree standing.
We got a big old Stihl that I use mostly & a little Echo for lopping branches etc.
She loves nothing more than dropping a tree or branches, then a good fire to burn the debris. With baked potatoes & sausages on the embers.
We had to take down a whole line of Leyland Cypress the other year as they were damaging the roof & the roots were causing havoc too, she was in heaven.
Big congratulations!... was that Homelite an XL90? . . . too cool!
i believe it was. i borrowed it from a friend. the thing is actually in pretty good shape yet and would make a good smaller trimming saw if i get him talked out of it cheap. i went with the MS260PRO because it is big enough to cut up some pretty good size stuff, but light enough that she should be able to use it most the day without it being a big heavy tank. plus it has all the better internals and some more upgraded goodies than the regular 260.
i was really trying to round up an electric one to have in there lmao. actually had a guy here at work try and sell me an electric chainsaw for her after i said i was looking for a saw she could use when she goes out in the woods. i asked him if she was supposed top carry a generator around on her back...
Seriously, you should have gotten her an engagement ring! I see two naked ring fingers! She won't wait forever...
thats the best part. we have both been married and each have a child. neither of us wants to get married again.
they don't save the non native ones.
that is correct. they try to get the land back to having basically all the native species that have all but gotten taken over by the non native stuff.
Cool stuff No Rice... MY wife rides horses. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I buy her for presents that would raise an eyebrow to non-horse types. LOL
that would be my daughter. shes got more horses then i can keep track of!
Tim, and here I thought that keeping you out of trouble WAS her full time gig
if you ask her it is! lol. after being with me so long, she doesnt stress out to much when im going to do something that may be a bit shall we say dangerous... think she figured out that somehow i always manage to pull it off and walk away(or atleast hobble)
