Way freaking cool. A little tight for just at the beginning of the 2009 Racing season... Shop with Separate 100 amp service, heating/air conditioning, hot/cold water+sewer: Oh yeah, there's this house thing with like bedrooms and bathrooms and a yard and such like - just outside the shop. Kitchen too I think.

Congrats, I'm excessively jealous. Hopefully I'll make my way to garage- er, home ownership in the coming months. Lord knows it's the time to buy. |

Do my eyes deceive me or is that a 2 car+1 car garage in the last pic? AND you got a place to wash yer clothes, take showers, eat & sleep (aka a house) thrown in on top of the deal??? You are one VERY lucky man! Congrats. (I'm green w/ envy) Can we get pics of the shop interior? |

Yep - 3 car garage AND a 35x40 shop. Indoor plumbing too so no yellow spots on the grass. I gotta check that house thing out. Might save on the pizza delivery charges if we can figure out that cooking and kitchen thing. We get to do a walk-thru inspection and will take a camera along. Life for the past 5 years has been a "vows of poverty" existence while attempting to save (yeah RRiiiiight - motorcycle racing AND saving??!!). Fortunately we're allowed to keep a couple vehicles at work - just have to move them daily so we could use this garage for some more storage here. Our garage here has 5 motorcycles and Sunny's car. My buddy Don Thutt has the racebike when it's not on the showroom floor and another project bike in crates/shelves. We have 2 of the largest Uhaul storage units FULL. Sunny owns a Tig welder, compressor, drill press, sandblast cabinet. I have oxy/acetylene, assorted fiberglass and finishing/spray/mixing equipment. We have a complete darkroom - all in storage. HELL - we have stuff that I'm sure will surprise us when we FINALLY get our stuff out of storage. It was just the time to buy. We're kinda stoked. Already know where we're going to put in the workbenches and how we're going to setup tire/wheel storage... and where the bike lift goes. (Message edited by slaughter on January 22, 2009) |

Bet you got a sweet deal with the way the prices have dropped up in the AV. Was it a bank repo or someone just selling it? Congrats, workshop would have been the center of attention for me as well. |

congrats on the shop purchase and very nice. every man needs his own private space away from the ones you love. went and put a 12x20 shed in the back yard to get the tools and such out of the 1 car garage for the 5 bikes. i'm looking forward to the day that i can build a 30x40 garage in the back. |

There WILL BE a housewarming - escrow set to close on 16 Feb - means it'd have to be a few weeks after that (probably a Daytona Party/housewarming???) |

It wasn't a repo - was a short sale. The owner (well... the BANK was the actual owner) lost his job in town and transferred away and offered to throw $30K in on the deal just to speed it up. He did NOT want a forclosure. Place has been on the market a half year now and has dropped a good $80K between the time it first listed and our offer. He was the president/CEO of the AV Chamber of Commerce and was pretty well known to the RE agents. Good guy, bad luck. Place had a couple other offers but Sunny and I could do a much bigger down payment and had better credit so we got the deal. Sweet deal all around. Good time to be buying. Just hope nothing goes wrong - but we're in escrow a few days now... we'll see. |

Sunny owns a Tig welder, compressor, drill press, sandblast cabinet. "Her House?" His Shop?" Might be a shop war going on here, hope ya'll can work it out. Use the garage and the shop and rent the house out maybe. That round green spot looks like a great place to plow up for an okra patch. You folks done good! Rotzaruck! |

Wow, what a nice setup! Love that huge shop. I think my whole garage and back yard could just about fit inside it. Everything looks so brand new! Congratulations! I'm hoping everything works out like you plan. Looking forward to the house/shop warming party! (Oh, and if you have any room for a couple Buells after moving all yer stuff in...) |

Daytona party might work for timing - except that neither of us has had a TV for over a decade... and a big/flat screen might not fit our budget right away. Still keeping our fingers crossed... but if it took another couple weeks, that'd be OK because it closes too close to race weekend at Willow Springs and face it, if we're moving, I might have to miss a race weekend... 'twould suck but sometimes there are different priorities. |
