Nothing worth mentioning yet, but they tend to leave the best stuff for last.

Apparently Apple still hasn't learned about the the issues with short life non replaceable batteries back in the older Ipods.

HAHAHA!

I was like, "WTF, mate?" through that whole video, thinking they were on crack, up until the last 15 seconds with proposed upgrades.

I'm crying I'm laughing so hard!

Good one.

the new MacBook Pro trackpad has no button. It is the button. So you can click it anywhere.

Umm... every laptop has that feature, and its freaking annoying. Also I am looking for pictures of the under side, but it seems like upgrading your memory won't be easily done either.

One of my top requirement for buying a laptop is it needs to have the little button thingy in the center of the keyboard to control the mouse. I find touchpads to be very clumsy and slow to use. I'm MUCH faster with the nubby thing.

That said, a Mac might be on the horizon for me...

"I'm MUCH faster with the nubby thing."

That's what she said.

Sorry, I'm in a "The Office" state of mind lately. I get it via Netflix over my TiVo now.

RAM upgrades and hard drive upgrades are going to be near impossible. Doesn't look like I will be giving up my year old MBP 15" any time soon.

But a USB mouse doesn't travel well or work good in it lap when I'm lounging on the couch.

RAM upgrades and hard drive upgrades are going to be near impossible.

With a torx screwdriver, it will be a 10 minute job. As of late (starting with the iphone 3g, macbook air) Apple has stopped hardwiring the battery to the motherboard.
This makes a replacement as easy as a few torx screws disconnect the battery, and pop in a new one.
This is the same for ram/HD.

I actually like the fact they are going to non removable batteries. If you get into the basics of LIPO energy storage, there is really no way they could not get the run times out of their devices without greatly increasing the size of the device.

As for replacement when the battery wears out. There are a host of 3 party companies that offer parts for cheap.
If you are lazy apple will replace the battery for a modest sum.
THe magic number for the new 17in MBP is ~$170.
It is a rumored 95ah battery. If you price out a similar sized battery from any other manufacture they are north of $200. A laptop battery that large (capacity wise) is very rare.
