It's a demo event.
That's what March Badness is...officially.
We've made it more than that on our own, thanks to the 3%ers and BadWeB!

Glitch- glad to hear you're planning to partake! Partake of the paarty!!

I had a conversation with a buddy about being in Suches in March and worrying about the possibility of rain. We had the thought that maybe someone local to the area would have a lead on dirtbikes or 4-wheelers somewhere that might be available to raise hayull with, in case we can't ride the Buells hard on the tarmac.

The first and moist natural answer would be some abusable fiddys on hand. Better yet would be some slightly bigger but yet small bore dirtbikes- rampant mayhem and stupidity are better served in small HP doses.

Whutcha think, buddies?

If I make it this year I will have to fly. I did not see any place on SMHDs web site where they had rentals. Can anyone direct me to the nearest dealer that rents bikes?Frank

http://www.hdatlanta.com/

They have HOG fly and ride.... you can rent a Harley for 100 bucks a day.

SOOOO if you are a HOG member you are good to go..... if not, join and you will save more than the membership fee cost.

Hey F Man-

Smoky Mountain H-D/BUELL has both: Ride On rentals and Fly and Ride.

It's a GREAT ride down from Mur-Vil, and doing it on a FLHR wouldn't be bad at all.

My 2cents

Thanks, I will give both dealers a call. I just checked airfare and it will be about 1,000 for both Lynn and I. It comes down to the logistics of getting from the airport to the dealership and back again.

I know Lynn would rather ride her own bike so if I can get two sportsters less then one bagger I might do that.

I hope my tent doesn't leak this time!

"IF" I had to make a choice.... I would go with SMHD....

Fly into Knoxville and then get to ride the Dragon to and from Suches.....
Plus they opened the door and put out the food for all of us last year....

The only problem I can see with that is the HOG Fly-N-Ride website says April to October....
I'm sure some strings could be pulled....

Just revisited the thread, to answer the quextion:

Fly n Ride is strictly April 1 to October 31. However, if you'ns need a ride to/from the airport the dealership can send someone after ya.

RPHD/Buell has 1125R, Uly, and XB12S for rent, just have further to go to Suches. Our rental manager picks people up all the time at the airport.

Mike, thank sounds great. I would love to try one of those new fangled Ulys to see what all the fuss is about. I may give you guys a call. I need to talk to Lynn first but am sure she is up for it.

You may know this, can I sign up for HOG not owning a Harley? All I have is an old Buell.

Frank

Wow Mike! I've wanted to have Buells for rent all along, but we were always told that our insurance wouldn't touch them. Can't believe you have an 1125R even!

The Ulysses is a no brainer- THAT's the one I'd go with.

Mike, looking forward to riding again witcha- sans the gas can!

Squids,
B'fast and a new route would be awsome!!! I have to do some creative dealing with the wife and the Army to make it this year. She had to much fun last year to let me go alone. 80% chance it will not happen. So I'm saying I still have a chance right?

Funny thing about the weather.
Right now the weather is exactly what we had during MB-V.
Warm and wet.
