Bingo. You think planes suck now, go to the Henry Ford. They have mock ups pf he cabins from all comercial aircraft over the years. Try on a 40's era Boeing with the wicker chairs nailed to the floor.

That's better than having spent most of your life "up the River".

Sorry for the thread hijack, but Crusy's comment got a Billy Joel song stuck in my head (curse you) and that reminded me of Friday night.

I went to the Furukawa's (Japanese company very much like Delphi in the US) bounenkai (year-end party). Great time, even though most of us couldn't really communicate effectively. Free food, drinks, and lots of happy people - who could ask for more? They even made me give a speech! LOL

Crowd from the Bounenkai - three guesses which one is me!

Afterwards a bunch of us went to a karaoke place and sang for about 3 hours! I added Aerosmith, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Beatles, Nirvana, and a couple more to the Japanese songs, and closed the night with a rousing rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Down On the Corner" that had them all dancing, clapping, tapping their feet, etc!

Some of the karaoke crowd...

Hey Darthane...Tell them you know Ray, a former American fashion model that was a big hit in Japan about 4 years ago. That was my old GF's kid. Betcha score big time on that! Her pic was on every kiosk and fashion mag in the country for years. Ping me if you need any back up info to cover your tracks.

LOL...the girl front left was definitely plastered. The only english she knew was "OK" and she must have said it five hundred times while doing a Village People version of the letters, a la YMCA.

On the upside, I was told by five different people that they loved me (aishteimasu). I'm hoping it was the booze, especially since two of them were guys!

Was a blast, though...can't wait to do it again in January.
