AMA did try to fight it but only got it reworded some.

Pisses me off, how is THIS not a $1000.00 fine if the law is supposed to be "fair."

There is a tag in there behind the tinted window. Common practice even with the permanent tags, because it's hard to attatch them tags.

I'm not comfortable enough to pull a wheelie on the road yet so it's a non issue for me...I live on a private street so if and when I do, it's at home. Like the rest of the florida boys said...It's not worth it really. They will take your bike. Not sure about others here in FLA, but I enjoy my bike. Don't want it taken away for basically showing off.

And Miamiuly...if it makes you feel any better, about a month ago I watch the guy in front of me get popped for not having a tag.

What pisses me off is when a cop is up front at a red light, our light turns green, we have to wait for the three or four cars that ran the red light and the cop doesn't do squat.

We got screwed big time... Another Loss for us..

How long until some one is mistaken for doing a wheelie.

On the ride home to and from a big local bike night there could be 20-30 bikes riding around you easy..

I've been mistaken for the speeding when I was passed by a Suzuki SV...

To a lot of people all bikes look alike..

Bet it wasn't a $1000.00 ticket though. If it was I'd feel a little better, just as a car should get a thousand dollar ticket for spinning it's wheels (the car equivalent of a wheelie for arguments sake.)

I worry more about being mistaken for someone else or just getting that one bad apple cop on my case just because he has new laws.

Reckless and other laws covered it fine.
N
ow they have just given the true idiots one more reason to run from the cops and maybe make a couple of normally reasonable people consider running.

Even the trooper who let me off for a full blown, high wheelie agreed that the bad apple cops could be a problem, but that there were more good guys than the bad apples.

I was on an out of the way road but totally guilty when he pulled me over.

The car in front of me was my friend, unfortunately the one behind me (where I failed to look) was the trooper.

Thankfully he was cool and could tell that I really felt like an ass for doing a wheelie right in front of him.

Doesn't it just gripe you when a car car turn left or pull out in front of you, causing a fatal accident, and they get a $70 fine.

Yet you pull a minor wheelie and it's "Off with his head"!

Of course you could live in Iowa City where they fine you $250 for skateboarding on the sidewalk.

I have had many wheelie tickets
When i first got my x1w i got pulled over on the freeway i was going 135+mph and he said he had to go 120 im mean 130 ha ha the cop cars here cannot break 120 mph. He just lectured me for 5 minutes and said your lucky im not highway patrol or id hook you up!
I still had original owners plates no insurance doubling the speed limit reckless driving, I only had the bike for 12hrs so i got it all legal the next day!
Here its a $82 fine they call it exhibition driving\drag racing

i did one at a stop sign and a cop was sitting down the street and saw me but i was 4 blocks away by then and he says god were you going a hundred, I had keep up to catch you...He said his son died on a motorcycle without a helmet on, And he said because i was wearing one he would only give a warning to me....NICE GOT AWAY AGAIN!

I've had 3 and 1 warning -- the warning wasn't that long ago either. Pulled my helmet off and the young LEO said "oh, I thought you were some stupid kid." I was thinking 'nope, old stupid guy here.'
