i used to carry a 9mm. dont currently have a pistol though. but i am wanting one again. I would think any weapon would be difficult to use on the spot if you're wearing gloves. my weapons of choice currently are my gloves! icon TiMax titanium
i have tested their durability at bashing in car doors and fenders so im pretty sure the would hold there own against someones face. |

The roads I ride might as well be lined with teddy bears and lollipops. But I do usually have a pocketknife. I would think any weapon would be difficult to use on the spot if you're wearing gloves. i just assumed you were like the highlander and carried a sword under your coat |

1. Get a chain wallet, not just any chain wallet, Make your own like I did. 11'' dog chain connected to a clip and my wallet. I found the Jagered up Frat boys don't give me as much trouble anymore at the bars with this on. 2.Get a Kershaw knife WITH speedsafe. I have the Leek. All black. Opens just as fast and easy as a switchblade, only due to technicality its considered not. Legal, but just like a switchie. No fights in 2 years in baltimore city for me, except that bouncer I punched. He deserved it though. |

Yeah, I read about how a bunch of nutjobs have convinced themselves that Obama's gonna come and get their guns! Idiots. I have a feeling Obama might attempt to an end-run around the second amendment. How, you say? Obama talked of a civilian defense force in the campaign. Rahm Emanual wrote about mandatory civil service in his book, " The Plan". The proposal is to mandate "voluntary" service for young adults aged 18 to 25 in civil defense training. Would it be a stretch to call this civilian force a militia and if so; could that negate an individual's right to gun ownership?...say, with the addition of one or two left-leaning Supreme Court Justices. In any case, I believe it would be a dangerous path to go down. Once this program were instituted, it would be very hard to stop. Here is a link to audio of Rahm speaking on this very topic.. http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/11/rahm-ema nuel-discusses-formation-of.html (Message edited by ferris_von_bueller on November 18, 2008) |

Ever notice that the more time any individual spends in the sh*t (esp. at the receiving end of firefights) the less jerked-off they are to "carry" out here in the real world? ...so many Walter Mittys, so little world experience... And, the sad thing is, its 100% on the money. WHILE in Texas, I had my CCW.. I DID carry, when out with my kids/family, traveling, etc... for the simple reason, you NEVER know.. and NOTHING is more important than my family... When riding.. I have never had more than my knife in the back pocket(more of a tool than anything, ALWAYS carry it), and I have a boot knife(more habit than anything). I have never felt the need to carry a firearm while out screwin off... because, lets face it... you never know... Chase |

Replicants are like any other machine, they're either a benefit or a hazard and so can be said about any defensive weapon (Message edited by ferris_von_bueller on November 18, 2008) |

Over the years, my father has offered me many nuggets of sage advice, most of them entirely ignored by me. Two of them, though, I have taken to heart: 1) Don't be a dentist. 2) Always carry a pocket knife. They are surprisingly useful, and used surprisingly often. I also carry a lighter most of the time. Even for a non-smoker like me, they come in quite handy on occasion. |

Is the chain on a chain drive wallet an O-ring type or does it need lubrication every so often? |

I do, typically, always carry a pocketknife, which reminds me of another very intelligent piece of combat knife advice: If you have a pocketknife with a short blade, it's often more useful in your fist, closed, as ballast, than it is with the blade open. Know why swiss army knives have the awl in the center? |

Depending on where I ride I do carry, but not for humans. I am only truly outright fearful of a few things on Earth and they are as follows: tornadoes, lightning (not the Buell kind) and BEARS!!! Bears freak me the fu*k out! The only thing that is worse than bears are gorillas, cause them son of a bitches have opposable thumbs!!! |

I wouldn't exactly call a 300 lbs predator "Harmless" but for the most part if you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone (mothers with cubs are another story). Gorillas are essentially non aggressive, but chimps, being humanity's closest genetic relatives, share our violent and treacherous nature (don't let those cute immature chimps on TV fool you... the adults weigh as much if not more than a full grown human with almost two or three TIMES the strength). There was an incident in the news a few years ago about a zoo visitor being mauled by chimps when he/she got too close to their cages. |

Drake that would make sense (here is where I geek out) since the symbol on the tail is from the Arashikage clan that both Snake Eyes and Strom Shadow originated from. Now not to hijack or change that direction of where is is going. I will say when I am on a road trip and having a lil extra "security" with me is a good thing when I am stopped on the side of the road for a maintinance, stretch or smoke break. I like to have my .40 in the tank bag or I may be going to a Taurus The Judge 45-410. Take a look it just screams fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrSGiJG25E4&feature =related I prefer the roads I ride to be lined with strip clubs and beer but thats just me. Come ride your bike in Baltimore City (you usually have to ride thorugh slums to get anywhere here) Riding through the slums, where everyone watches you, and some of them are most defintley carrying guns, and aren't afraid to take your bike, wallet, etc. I'm sure the situation is similar to Detroit, Los Angeles, etc. Good old Maryland is stricter than most states with CCLs, and the law abiders suffer at the hands of criminals. So I do with what I got. They'll take my Firebolt from my cold dead hands! (Message edited by b00stzx3 on November 19, 2008) |

"Black bears are harmless" Tramps fatal last words.... "Gorillas are essentially non aggressive" Jaimec's fatal last words... "Chimps, being humanity's closest genetic relatives, share our violent and treacherous nature" At least we agree on something. Seriously... Tramp? Jaimec? With that attitude, you and your families are going to be the first who get eaten when the bears and gorillas get together to take over mankind. You aren't just going to be victims, you are part of the problem! Do you think Planet of the Apes was some kind of F**KING JOKE? "God damned dirty apes!" Never ever enter into a contract with a chimp, or go out with one when he is drinking... Violent and treacherous! That's all I can say about that. HURRY! Rush out with everyone else to your nearest sporting goods or hardware store. I think you can even go to many Walmarts! All of you need to get a BFG and a BFK and carry them everywhere. Bill |
