UPDATE: Just got off the phone with Trish. Doctors are worried about a bruised lung. Mike had a small problem this morning and they are considering the ventilator If he can't get O2 sats up. It sounds as though Mike is in good spirits though, keep the good thoughts coming. He will most likely be in the ICU for another day from the sound of things. Predicting home maybe this weekend. Trish is on her way home, I am going to print all of this out and give it to her to give to Mike. Get well buddie, the bike don't worry about, the home don't worry about, the car don't worry about. Your friends are taking care of that for ya! You just keep your spirits up and come on home to your family and friends. | ||

I dont know who Mike is, but I do know he is a fellow rider. I dont think that I have ever met him but to hear of this really sucks. Update! I talked to U4euh about 30 minutes ago. He was leaving the hospital after visiting with his "brother" Mike! He said that Mike is pretty banged up and sore, but has the right mind set. He's on a morphine drip for pain right now. Mike only remembers being in the sand before the impact and doesn't remember anything else until EMT was waking him. Being the motorcycle enthusiast that Mike is, his first question was about his bike and it's condition. Jim assured him that the bike was in a safe place and would be dealt with later. Mike will probably be in ICU for at least another day or so. Once he's moved a regular floor, they will discuss visitors and the possibility of having him moved to a local hospital. Trish is hanging in there and Rachel plans to stay with the family taking care of cooking and the children for the time being. Jim printed down this thread and read it all to Mike. Mike sends his thanks and says that the prayers and well wishes did make him feel better. Keep praying for Rubberdown, Ferris, Djkaplan and Ratbuell during their recovery time. Kristi- Thanks much for the update. Glad he's progressing. I posted a link to this in the Yahoo Honda Ascot forum; Mike's got a few buddies over there too (that's how I met him ~6 years ago). BTW- how's DJ doing? I'd imagine he's still in recovery too. | ||

Sorry so late guys, busy day with field trips planning for the students. Mike was moved to a regular room last night. On the same floor, the 9th. I wanna say room 917 but don't quote me on that. That does mean he can have visitors!! I'm sure he'd love some company, and sneek in some peanut M&M's! That being said he is on his way to recovery. He has gotten out of the bed 3 times as of the last conversation with Trish. Keep on keepin on Mike!! | ||
