A friend of mine's father, Craig, was struck by a cager this afternoon while riding his Harley. He has passed from injuries sustained from being hit by the cager. As the news of what happened isn't really released yet, and I'm not sure if the family knows yet either, but if the driver wouldn't have fled the scene, he most likely would still be here with us. Update: Craig was lying on the ground after the initial crash. The driver then got out and surveyed the scened (drunk), and then somehow ran Craig over, dragging him, then crashing half mile down the road from accident. http://www.wndu.com/home/headlines/33699224.html I'm not good with these sort of things. But he was, is, and always will be a great guy. He was a Police Officer, father, grandfather, friend, brother, so much to so many people. Yes Rocco...I know...It's happened to far too many good people... Another update: Driver has so far been arrested for two class C felonies – Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, and Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Crash. | ||

Always sad to read of a fellow rider going down. Even worse that he was a police officer and then to be killed by a drunk driver who tried to run. I am so sorry for his family and friends and will pray for them. | ||

I spring spoke with a friend who is on the same dept. because I went to his Sunday hangout. Driver is being charged with Felony Murder is what I was told. | ||

So ridiculous. So senseless. So preventable. I'm sure a lot of us are guilty of pushing that sobriety limit, but this should make us ALL consider the extreme consequences of a really bad choice.
