Dave, I did have a great day yesterday, Thank you very much and Wes says Hi right back atcha. Are you sure it's a problem with the wheel and not the axle or adjuster? The torque moves the wheel/axle in the adjuster on my bike. I had a jig made for my bike to check the alignment(frequently). You are welcome to use it anytime. Or if you e-mail me I can show you how to make one for yourself.

Mark, great to see you online. I am sure, as a veteran in the go-fast arena, you will be a valued asset to this forum.

Vr1203, It was a special grind that Wes designed for Twin Cams. If you need cams for a Buell he can design those as well or at least tell you which off the shelf cam would be best for you. E-mail him if you wish. Cyclerama@aol.com

" It aint as easy as you might think"

I learned that lesson the hard way. And by no means did I mean to imply that Landracing was easy. There are many variables in the speed equation. Power is only one of them.

Thanks for the compliment, Pam. Honestly, I love to go fast in a safe environment. If I do that enough times I am bound to learn a thing or two... on occasion.

So Pam, when are you bringing your Buell to Maxton? You'll have a great time. I am always amazed at the variety of machines that show up to race. From the alcohol burning 100mph go cart to Yancy's 250mph Hayabusa. It is an event not to miss.

Pammy babe, not that it matters but by 'fight' I actually meant post more bloody often!

I for one miss your charm, wit and intelligence. I miss your great sense of right and wrong too, and the ability and candidness you have to deliver it wrapped up in all of the above.

And not forgetting

Mark, I heard that we may be bringing some whoop-ass to Maxton in 2004.

Sean, I am either feeling all warm and fuzzy from reading your post or I'm just having another 'hot flash' and forgot to shave my legs again. I guess you are mellowing in my old age. Thank you sweety.

Ray, burlap drawers are in place. Thanks for asking.

Jim, thanks for the Happy Birthday.

I certainly did not mean to turn this thread away from the performance issues. I apologize.

Firemanjim , stand in line!!! A big ,high flowing Aerocharger is a rare beastI've been looking for over a year. I don't have those "important" racing connections though. All I have is just the hard earned stuff, no big name.Must make a difference. Too bad Aerocharger ,the business, is so poorly run, because the turbo is good. They need to be bought out by somebody with deep pockets. Jay Leno where are you?
If this thing (Aerocharger) won't work for me this time I'm setting up a Garrett. I'm tired of fooling around with two-bit outfits (listening,Justin?)
Pammy ,so what cams are making 200hp's? What are the timing numbers? Or what's "off the shelf" close?

Hey Pammy,
I'm not sure if it's the wheel. I keep going through wheel bearings. I have a lot of faith in the last mechanic who did the work. Orlando H-D Buell is calling Buell to get their feedback. We'll see what they say? Thanks.

Garrett is the best turbo, without a doubt.
Tell me what application we are talking about and I will find out about the cam.

Jim, it was a stock carb, 40CV with some air bleed mods. It was a 570 lift cam. I am not sure about the size of the turbo, as the customer supplied it to us(so I don't have specs recorded). I can contact him and find out.

Dave, let me know if I can help.

Aerocharger business has been standing on one leg since 98. They simply don't sell enough units. Not their fault. If you search the archives (in this section) you'll find a posting from me about Eastside Performance located in Arizona. They might have a turbo or two for sale, dunno. I bought a used one from them years ago.

I think it's because to survive in the business you have to be passionate about what you do, because there certainly isn't any money in it!

Fuck me you expect us to believe you bought Nallin Racing for love?

We met a guy at Bonneville this year, who said Aerocharger had been bought by a larger outfit, and that things should be shaping up "soon".

FMJ got the guys card - he's apparently an expert on setting up Aerochargers and making them work, including making/fixing missing parts etc.

FMJ do you still have that info?

Well no offense mate but it's easy to say that when someone's got years of good earnings behind them.

I love working on my toys too, most times, but working on other peoples toys for a living, that is definitely not passion in my book. Still, each to their own. Sorry but I took your comments as condescending especially so seeing as you appear to be the top dog on Badweb these days. Call me sentimental but burlap knickers and tube frame Buells don't seem to fit here anymore more's the pity.

Henrik,he is Steve Packer--the Turbo Doc. Inc.--in Ogden Utah.(801)334-9140.He had me measure mine down where the intake vanes are to determine size.I need a bigger one to make more power.Apparently the only way to determine the size you have as nothing is stamped on them anywhere. He is hopeful he will have another supplier by spring(sounded like maybe someone is buying Aerocharger??)
And,yes,Pammy--if you can find out anything on the turbo it would be great.

Rocket... We love your passion man!

I pulled apart the cam side of my Cyclone, to replace a badly worn oil pump drive gear, and found the front exhaust cam badly pitted (probably defective from the factory).

I posted a picture here, and within an hour, Pammy (CycleRama) gave me the professional verdict ("It's toast" ), followed by Aaron (Nallin Racing) giving me a tip that although the 2000 parts manual claims all four cams have to be replaced as a set, that if you go to the 1999 parts manual, you can find the number for just that cam (3 of the 4 cams are identical between 99 and 00) and order just that part.

This saved me more then $175. And I guarantee that Pammy and Aaron did nothing but loose time and money by helping me, God bless 'em.

Is Nallin the "king of the roost" here? Sure. Look at how much he has contributed. Do we want Pammy here as well? Hell yes. She has been a huge help to many of us as well.

Who would I want to build me a motor? Man. That would be a tough call. IMHO, Aaron is doing the math and sweating the logic, and making some pretty huge inroads. Wes is just magic, and has some sort of Zen thing happening where he just knows what to do and has tested every possibility.

I would be damn proud to ride a motor built by either shop.

And as for the demise of the tube framers, you and Dyna have been pounding nails in that coffin as fast as you can hammer! Those of us that have them, love them and understand them. Maybe we are just tired of having to explain yet one more time why "reliability is over rated". Better an unreliable motorcycle that stirs my soul, then a perfect motorcycle that is only capable of moving my body.

Rocket -- dunno about burlap knickers, having never tried them, but I love my tuber, and there are l;ots of folks here that still love theirs . . ..

the politics round here get a little, er, deep, sometimes . . . tough to sort out when ya got folks who's mortgage nut is tied up in the subject covered (broadly) on the board, but I know I've learned from both Nallin and Cycle-Rama, and have been remiss in tendering my thanks . . . .

Thanks to both shops, and to all the others I've picked up knowledge from . . . ..

so, Rocket, tell us more about these burlap knickers, wouldja?

Wicked scribbling dude - wish I'd have written them words.

Clarification - Call me sentimental but burlap knickers and tube frame Buells don't seem to fit here anymore more's the pity.

A reference to the onslaught of XB's over the tubers. As for the burlap pants - if you don't know then you haven't been here long enough

Now about those nails I've hammered. Those nails were hammered into the reliability issues of the tube framers and NOT the bike in general. I've always thought the S1's were and still are a fantastic bike just not up to scratch.

Will do Joe and you folks have a great holiday as well.

Rocket is refering to some (not so good natured) ribbing I took a few years ago about me wearing burlap skivies(I don't. ouch). I found it pretty funny and used it many times in my posts. So it became kindof an inside joke.

Hey, Sean, a guy was in the shop yesterday from the U.K. A place called Jersey. I guess that is one of a chain of Islands named after cows. You get over there at all?

Pammy, Jersey and Guernsey are in the English Channel. Oddly Jersey is almost touching France. I haven't been there but where our family house is in France is very close to the coast and not so far from Jersey - the climate is similar.

When you visit Jersey you can't take your car. I'm not sure if this applies to bikes though - but you can hire electric cars in Jersey. Whether that's a good reason to go or not LOL.

Did you fleece the English visitor? My understanding of Jersey folk is - they're all filthy rich <smile>
