Maybe if HOG marked the Blast down to under $5000

I thought they were $4800 MSRP.

Yes, that's a fact. Buell.com lists the MSRP of a Blast at $4,795.

Just another of the unresearched positions that Buellgrrrrl has taken on this thread.

Guess the dim-bulb management already figured that part out.

You forget that Suzuki is a diversified company that makes just about everything with wheels and an engine under 200 HP. Honda makes robots and a whole lot of cars too, Yamaha makes musical stuff, and Kawasaki makes railroad passenger cars- have you priced one lately?

No, the subject was motorcycles and related. You alluded that pretty much every major manufacturer except HOG will come out gangbusters through the current economic crisis. You did this with questionable facts and skewered perspectives for what reason is anyone's guess. Your initial post about factory direct/custom bikes was flawed at best, economically impossible at worst. It seems that Harley and Buell touch a certain nerve within you and I am honestly sorry that you have not enjoyed the ownership experience as much as the majority of us had, but with that I have to wonder why you would continue in a dead end relationship when reconciliation is clearly not an option. You can't win em all, Enjoy the bikes you love and feel free to contribute when the urge hits you, but please be honest, if not to yourself then at least to the other members to this board who have extended the same courtesy to you.

Chellem, would you let me out the door with a new Blast for under $5k?

Greenlantern, I'm not impressed with GM and many other company's corporate strategy either. That said, if HOG management came out with a viable plan to survive this economic downturn I'd buy HOG- it's undervalued at the moment.

Taking the dealer out of the loop.
Yep, I am further abstaining from this thread. Hyperbole backed by rhetoric founded on stereotypes based without any valid statistical numbers.

You can still buy a bike in a box from Custom Chrome, no dealer required. You can still build it they way you want, You can still get the bike without the leather fringees. Its winter, go build. Good luck, We all want to see your progress. ; )

yes, it's too bad HD didn't keep the RV business
Sales for Winnebago are only down about 68%

Pretty smart move to dump the RV when they had the chance if you ask me.

Now you are just being silly. I am sure you could get out the door with HD only getting that amount, but HD(as all-powerful as they may be) do not control the tax man or other govt municipalities.

Did someone set your tampon string on fire?

I didn't really mean anything derogatory with that statement...I've just always wanted to say it...hee hee (as long as we are being silly)

Interesting article, after one of the larger Ford dealerships was found padlocked by arriving NYC employees last Friday, about 700 auto dealerships expected closing. These, I say as the DJI rose nearly a thousand points today, are not "normal" times.

I just returned from a dinner in Manhattan and although the topic was construction, not vehicles, there has never been such a sellers market.

The fundamentals of the economy, as record amounts of cash slosh to and fro in the system each day, are strong. What is dented now is confidence in the system as a result of the feds changing the rules as each new problem child arrives begging at the door.

When I see, in one of my holdings, numbers like this . . .

52Wk High: 67.60
52Wk Low: 6.71

I don't generalize . . . but then I've never been a "neighborhood organizer".

Does anyone here really still believe that "buellgrrl" is, in fact, a *female* who's actually never logged on to this board in the past, by another, much more notable-by-post-count name?

Tramp, thanks for the compliment- when I talk techie in 3D where it's obvious I'm female I get dismissed. When I talk techie in cyberspace, I get accused of being a guy.

Sad that you guys can't accept that a woman just might be able to take her bike apart AND put it back together. Maybe I just need to act helpless and say, "Oh no, my belt broke! Can you fix it?"

Not sure that anything was your bad, no worries- I was honestly trying to find the misogynist who posted something so sexist.
I'm relieved to find that no such post exists.

Political campaigns use the identical ploy utilized by BG in this case. They lead us to believe that something never spoken or printed was actually stated.

BG, in my estimation, follows a near-predictable pattern that a banned anti-Bueller would employ to re-enter badweb and stir some SHlT.

I've seen no evidence, of yet, to suggest the existence of "Buellgrrl" (with whom I have NO beef, incidentally), which is not to preclude the possibility that she , in fact, exists in corpus, as so-self-described.

"she" sounds eerily similar to an ex-badwebber or two.
Either way, she provides thoughtful discourse, inadvertently or otherwise.

I'd concur but, to date, she/he/it has yet to substantiate any facts or provide anything beyond opinion or anecdotal support for some outrageous statements.

There has, in my mind, been some good in this thread in that I've become a more critical thinker. Fact is, and this is being played out in several cyber-venues, anybody can say anything on the Internet.

I got a very interesting, seemingly (unsubstantiated) e-mail today that SNOPES itself has been revealed as a hoax.

Wow, you don't think much of your gender if you are complimented by the insinuation you could be otherwise.

You give womanhood a bad name...

I don't see you talking "techie" I see you talking "bitchy" quite a difference, in my mind.

If I sound offended, it's because I am.

I was waiting for someone to mention that one of the most knowledgeable amongst V-Twin tuners was indeed a female.

Pammy pretty well puts the entire gender based performance argument to rest.

How many times have you won the HP shootout?

Be just my luck that a year from new BG will have been right . . there will be no Buell, 51% of the HD dealers will have closed and Pammy will be hosting a cooking show in cable TV.

NOT.
