Be careful with payback. I had a jerk-off in a 5.0 cut me off...got real close to my front tire.

I had a similar incident riding home from an event. On this particular four-lane highway everyone wants to be the fastest, but no one wants to get a ticket. It is the main thoroughfare from Raleigh to the coast so you have city folks going to their beach property and it is always a pain. Heck if it was not for that, we wouldn't have a four-lane highway on this side of I-95. It starts like a pack of dogs chasing a rabbit. A car passes and then slows down causing another car to pass then slow down. I had one of those in front of me and I was trying to stay out of it but one grandma and a truck later, I was in the middle of it. So I decide to pick my way through it and get away. As we catch slower traffic a guy in a Volvo stuck in the right lane looks at me in his side mirror. We make eye contact. He turns on his turn signal and forces his way into my lane as the car in front of me clears him. I have to move left to avoid him, then move right around him and pull up on his right side. He bump drafts the car in front of him trying to prevent me from passing. He does not realise I had no intention of getting back into the left lane. I lane split the two cars in front of him. And again the two in front of them. In about five seconds I am clear of the dog pile and by myself on clear road. This enraged the Volvo driver.

I look in the rear view and he is cutting people off left and right, trying to force his way clear of the four cars in front of him. He gets clear of the dog pile and guns it to catch me. NO WAY, I say to myself and give it enough throttle to stay at least a 1000' ahead of him no matter what he does. Next round of traffic, I pick my way through it. He gets stuck and I slow back down to the speed limit on open road. Again he cuts people off driving erratically. He gets passed the cars and guns it. Again I only let him get so close. I can see this guy's wife hitting him obviously mad at him. She is trying to get him to stop but he is seeing red. After the third group of cars he realizes I am playing with him. He finally succumbed to his wife's beating and the realization that my bike is faster and there is nothing he can do about it. I get a good lead and pull off the road taking a different route home.

WHY is it that some people take it personally if you are going faster and pass them? I do not understand. I never flipped the guy off in the Volvo. I did not even get mad, I just wanted out of a bad situation and used the bike's speed and size to my advantage. But this guy just freaked out. It makes no sense to me.

My Dad is a Teamster and my Mom was UAW. They have pretty much always went against the voting recommendations of the idiots that ran their Unions.

They are proud McCain supporters.

Running black smoke will get your vehicle put off the road in Europe.

Police in some countries here will take action if they receive a number of complaints about the same vehicle.

Freight vehicles here don't often have stacks, most have a side exit, usually drivers side, older trucks can still kick out a nice guff of black coming off the engine brake, I only ever do it to d-head convertible drivers who overtake stupidly.

By the way, all that smoke is unburnt diesel, coming out of your wallet!

My Teamster brothers, you're in the minority. The Teamsters polled the membership before making the endorsement and found that Obama was the preferred candidate of the Teamster membership.

"I`ve been fogging obama supporters with my 7.3 powerstroke"

That's O.K. I fog McCain supporters with no less than 4 4,000 horsepower EMD locomotives.

That's what I'm seeing at work. We merged with the Teamsters a few years ago. Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers here

Those same idiots that ran their Unions scored Mom and Dad some very handsome retirement packages and good pay. The nerve of those Union idiots.

i would fogg the upies in CT, in their beamers talking on their cell phones not paying attention to the road. me and my dad got a kick out of that. it also seams that if you happen to come up on a mustang or trans am going slightly over the speed limit they all think you want to race. what a bunch of idiots.

It's taken a few years and a few miles, but I've finally come to terms with something about traffic. BTW, traffic is any vehicle on the road besides me...

They're just part of the scenery. They're the tree that jumps out from the sidewalk as far as I care. To believe that the majority of drivers care enough about driving or hating you to either blow smoke up your helmet or squirt their windshield washers is just plane lame. Most people are oblivious and have no idea that water droplets on your visor are a problem - if they even realize that you're back there.

All I know is that 117 miles round trip every day (most of it splitting lanes - ack!) has taught me that getting pissed off, militant, and trying to be a crusader in this mess would at best give me a heart attack.

Seriously, I've pulled people over. I've smacked mirrors with my armored knuckles and kicked body panels. I've even knocked on the window of cars droning down the 101 at speed and given them the "WTF Gesture". Talk about freakin' someone out.... I'm glad I've somehow redirected my emotions.

Chill out, peeps. Take pride in how you handle other peoples ineptitude or offensiveness. Realize that you have better things to live for and keep on riding towards them.

-Saro

PS - My likely exception is if I spot drunks. I've pulled a few over and waited for the cops. Sorry thing about Ca (don't get me wrong - I love this state) is that unless the cop witnesses the actual drunk driving, all they do is give the person a ride home or ask them to take a walk to the bus stop.

Robert your TDI is about as fast as my Trans Am if I ran 85 octane with 4 coils unplugged, haha, just kidding, im just jealous of your MPG

My TDI had about 180hp and over 350ft/lbs of torque to the wheels. Gear/tranny design sucked in the first two gears. But I could keep up with some v8's from 70mph on up to 140mph. And thats from a 1.9l engine that got 40mpg always.

But I must admit I would smoke cars and even bikes that rode my ass.

what in the hell did you have done to that thing???
I have pretty much all the external upgrades one could do to the 1.9 TDI, but I know i'm not even close to 350 torque!

So i'm guessing you built a racing motor?

I had my Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD, "adjusted" from 115hp to 155hp. It sees off stock gti's with ease & the look on peoples faces as they get blown away by an ugly mpv, is priceless.

The downside?
So far 2 clutches, 1 bi-mass flywheel, 1 gearbox, various wheel bearings, suspension bushes, tyres, etc. & a few speeding tickets.
