For those about to rock, I salute you with the heads up that Sirius has dedicated a 24/7 channel of just AC/DC. I am in heaven.

It's 6029.

It's only scheduled to run until 1/15/09.

Help me get it made a permanent channel. Use this link to email Sirius customer care (subscriber or not) and tell them to keep Sirius 6029 as an exclusive AC/DC channel!

http://www.sirius.com/customercare

Thanks!

I agree. I like AC/DC but give me back the Punk channel. Put AC/DC on Shade 45 or something.

I'm all for a dedicated AC/DC station, but not at the expense of a dedicated punk station. Boooo!

Heh.. I noticed this yesterday... I put on the punk station.. and said to myself "when did AC/DC fall into the punk genre??"
Then figured out what the heck was going on.

Yeah.. I vote on making a new channel for AC/DC only stuff also.

There is no better use of bandwidth (or whatever satellite frequencies are called) than the dedicated AC/DC station. I have temporarily suspended listening to talk radio thru Jan 15. They've got balls for doing it.

I also thought it was weird they chose to use a pre-existing station to put AC/DC on. If I was a punk fan, I wouldn't be too happy either.

But hey, they are the best ever...

XM is doing the same thing.

XM has done this with other artists over the years as well.

Maybe if you stuck to listening to the real stuff, you wouldn't feel that way.

I have sent XM a visious email demanding my Fungus be returned immediatly so it should be back on in a day or two. It figures that the only music station I listen to would be shut down. How does Johnny Thunder put it..."born to lose"...yeah that's me.

Long live compact discs, online P2P piracy, and MP3s.. none of which require a monthly subscruption!

Well that's about the stupidest statement that I've heard in a while.

Now tell me how I learned how to play those songs without listening to their CD's?

Now I know that the drum beats are pretty simple but I DID have to listen to them quite often when practicing.

I have been sending an email to them almost everyday....

I assume its not permanent, since its still labeled as the Punk 29 even after the channel updates.

Not really. According to your previous post, you were tired of AC/DC because you were in a cover band. I ASSUME that is because you immersed yourself in their music (both from the CDs AND your own) and now you just can't stand listening to them anymore. My point is that if you stayed the casual fan, you probably wouldn't feel the way you do today.

In any case, props to you for covering the best band ever....too bad it soured you on their music though.

Well than you are correct sir!!!

The only problem is that I was not a big fan to begin with. I enjoyed them but don't think their music was that good. Simple rock music to the core and not that heart pumping in my eyes. I think that Nickelback has taken that idea one step forward in this day & age, good simple rock music.

ALL of their tunes are pretty much the same from behind a drum set, boring when you play it over and over.

Didn't mean to come off like a dick in my previous post but after listening to hundreds of hours of AC\DC I have come to realize that they are not really that good, musical wise.

I listen to a LOT of different music BTW. I am on a Mudvayne kick right now.

Edited to add videos that actually work

what is real stuff FResno I am confused?

I can not see you saying all Punk sounds the same. I am not a musician so the technichal aspect of STUFF is lost on me and a good portion of the LISTENING public so just what is real stuff.

Damnut--I don't think that anyone will ever claim that AC/DC is the best technical band ever or comprised of the best musicians ever or has the most complex/thought provoking material ever--I agree with you there 100%.

However none of that means much to me personally. We all have different tastes, but the longevity and HUGE fan base of AC/DC speaks volumes. How many bands get a dedicated channel on Sirius?

XB9er, Looks like it's another $3.95/month to add the "Best of Sirius" to an existing XM subscription.

I think I'll put that $50 into my bike or truck over the winter instead.

I've got a close friend that was a roadie for AC/DC for a while (what else do you do with a CDL and an audio engineering degree?). Interesting times, from what I hear. I can only imagine partying with Brian and Angus & the rest of the crew. He's got some stories, that's for sure...
