Hey y'all, Connie's back in the hospital. Got a few e-mails from Dan. Connie went to the emergency room about 11:00 last night in serious pain and shortness of breath. No idea what's wrong yet, but they have admitted her and want to run tests and take pictures and such. She will probably be in for a couple of days, is my guess, but she's responding to medication, if passing out on hard narcotics can be called 'responding'. She's at Wellstar Kennestone in Marietta, room P106. I doubt she'd like visitors today, she's been playing with doctors and nurses all night. Well, the procedure they performed was an exploratory stint up her femoral artery to determine if her liver was still bleeding. It wasn't. That's a good thing. There's a sizable hematoma surrounding her liver however and they think that's most likely what's causing her pain. There is no plan at this time to surgically address it. They gave her more drugs and stuck her back in ICU. She's sleeping now. As soon as I know more I'll let you know. I know y'all have some prayers and positive energy left, let's send it her way. | ||

Sorry to hear she's back in the hospital. BUT at least the doctors are leaving the knives alone! Sometimes the body just needs time to heal itself. Hope she's doing better and out soon. | ||

From Dan: Connie's staying in ICU. She's all drugged up and sleeping longer than she has been. She wakes up when the drugs wear off, pushing the button and passing back out. Her nephew and my kid visited and Connie slept through it. The bleeding yesterday was most likely caused by her doing too much too soon. When she does get out, I'm going to try and make her stay at my place(where it's boring) and try to keep her following doctors orders. Any assistance anyone can provide would be appreciated. Handcuffs, duct tape and the like. But first she has to get well enough to get out of the hospital. Stay tuned. Doing too much too soon, sounds like a lot of us don't it. Thoughts and prayers are going out to Dan too, he's got his work cut out for him. | ||

More from Dan: Connie's still in ICU and mostly sleeping. No word yet on when or where she'll be moved, but she's looking better. They're giving her dilaudin(sp?) and a muscle relaxer as she's been having spasming pains in her back, somewhere around her kidney and it's been making her miserable. She's definitely on an upward swing now. I thank everyone for the kind words and keeping her in your thoughts through all this. She has her cell phone if you want to try it. She's not awake very much though. I'm back at home and going in to work tomorrow. She can have Visitors in this ICU, but not a bunch at once, is the only stipulation. She's at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta in the Cardio Vascular ICU in the Blue Tower...Good night. | ||

Connie got out of intensive care today! She's in a regular room in the Short Stay ward. They're not saying when she can get out, but hopefully "short stay" is a good sign. She's off the Dilaudin drip and on all kinds of pills. She says she's ready to go home. Let's hope so. | ||

Dilaudin SUX. I had to take it IV when I had my brain injury to prevent seizures. Burns like a MO FO! Hope they can give her the oral stuff or she can get off it altogether! Glad she's getting out... and sounds like with Don and the locals, she has a real cheering section going for her! We're ALL cheering for her!!!!!!!!!! | ||

Ok, She's back home and switched to Oxycontin and a host of other narcotics. Some people get all the luck. I'm ready to get on a 'morenfivehourssleepschedule'. If her damn liver starts bleeding again, I'm going to spring for new gaskets. She's as bad as an AMF Harley. | ||
