> Corners that are fun for the driver are terrifying for the pillion.

You just haven't found the right pillion. : ) I touch my passenger's toes down in some corners, and she just laughs.

> I just don't enjoy it.

Sometimes I actually enjoy riding two-up even more than riding solo. It lets me share an experience that's normally very isolated.

I need to carry around a pink passenger helmet, though. I'm batting .500 with two female passengers and two male since I bought the Ulysses. The Uly gets tow truck/ambulance duty when someone wrecks or their bike breaks down. It has the biggest seat and the grab rails, so there's less chance of inappropriate touching.

That can be seen as an occupational hazard, like crossing swords.

I understand where your coming from with sharing the experience. I do that by offering to teach them to ride. I'd teach a complete stranger how to ride my bike as long as I knew they weren't going to steal it.

I'm on your side, Sanchez. But the Buell is only an occasional two-up vehicle. Most of my serious two-up riding is on the K1200LT (which is the reason I bought that bike). For an 850 lbs bike, it's surprisingly nimble in the twisties. And on the highway, my sweetie just kicks back to enjoy a good book:

Exactly the reason my co-pilot didn't like the Goldwing much and loves the Uly.

The highway is boring, no matter WHAT you ride. At least she has something to do to occupy her time.

Back in 2005 I got to see Randy Mamola give Michael Jordan a lap of Laguna Seca aboard a two-seater Desmosedici Ducati! Did a wheelie on the launch, and a stoppie at the end.

I prefer running the back roads with my wife on the back than solo. She's a great passenger, especially when she stays awake, and only complains when I drag her pegs.

Me too, Josh... but sometimes the highway is the fastest way to get to your favorite roads. Especially when that road is the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, and you live in New York...

Two up... one fell off.. My first wife sorta forgot to hang on during a front wheel dangle on my stroked Sporty... all ofa sudden the wheel went WAY up and she was on the pavement sitting on her arse.. Nothing busted but her pride and she decided that since she could not remember the basic principle of two up riding as in... HANG ON!... she would just get her own scooter. I personally prefer solo and don't understand headsets and radios on a bike.

Re: Headsets and radios on bikes -- Neither did I, until I actually used 'em. Now I don't know how I ever got along without 'em. Beats having to turn your head and scream at the top of your lungs just to be heard.

And it beats the hell out of cryptic hand signals when you're trying to communicate with your riding buddies, too!

I might give ya that.. haven't tried headset but after 40 plus years riding without.. hand sigs work.

But then I rebel against tooo much techno crap. Can't text. don't have an Ipod or cell phone and have no interest in same.

I've been on computers since the Apple II os I am not challenged but find limiting more to my liking.

Bad enough about remaps and puters on scooters but a radio??? I love the sound of the Micron... PURE MUSIC!!!
